SAM CRUZ'S INFALLIBLE GUIDE TO GETTING GIRLS by Tellulah Darling - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

Why the hell can’t chicks be more like guys?

That question plagues high school senior Sam Cruz. Sam is perfectly happy being a player. He just wishes girls wouldn’t change the game from sex to relationships. It makes him look like an asshole. But when Sam’s best friend, Ally Klinger, gets dumped, she begs him to transform her into someone who can screw around then screw off. No risk of heartbreak that way. It’s Sam’s chance to create the perfect female AND cheer up his best friend. Armed with Sam’s Three Step Guide to Backseat Success, Ally gets the game better than Sam thought she would and before long, Sam has his wish: the female version of himself. Too bad it’s driving him nuts. Told from Sam’s and Ally's alternating POVs, Sam Cruz’s Infallible Guide to Getting Girls is a fast-paced YA romantic comedy that follows these teens as they navigate the minefield of sex, love, and friendship.

This contemporary teen romance contains strong language, drinking, euphemisms, and lots of “bow chicka wow wow.”

MY REVIEW -

You will never get bore as Sam Cruz gives pointers to his best friend Allie Klinger on how to get boys after getting dumped.

Though, never in a million years would he ever think that he’d create a monster.

Sam is a player. He is content, and happy about it. He wished girls would do the same, and can separate great-no-strings-attached-sex and real relationships. It may paint him in a bad light most of the time, but he really doesn’t care.

NOT UNTIL

His best friend since diapers, Ally Klinger was dumped, begs him to transform her into someone like him who sleeps around and leave without looking back. It would save her heart from another heartache. This is a chance for Sam to make the perfect FEMALE version of him. He just didn’t realize that he might create a monster. Ally gets a hold of the GAME and gets to become a great player. After all, she learned from the best. It was driving him a little insane.

What he didn’t expect is the sudden hard-on he was sporting with her, the sudden urge of wanting to kiss her and that feeling of wanting to wring someone else’s neck when they look at her.

It’s a familiar plot, but it didn’t make it any less romantic or fun. I love watching Sam transform Ally, I just knew he’s going to regret it. I like watching him pout as Ally spread her wings and date. But what I loved the most is watching them finally realizing that there is no perfect for the both of them than each other – it may have taken them a while but it was all worth it. The novel would not be complete without the secondary characters as well. You will just adore them as much as Ally and Sam.

I enjoyed reading this novel. Tellulah Darling wrote a novel that is laced with great humor, a lot of euphemism, and amazing storyline.

Tellulah Darling is a firm believer that some of the best stories happen when love meets comedy. Which is why she has so much fun writing young adult romantic comedy novels. Her tales span contemporary, teen fantasy romance, and YA Greek mythology, and range from stand alone books to series. For Tellulah, teen romance is the most passionate, intense, and awkward there is – a comedy goldmine. Plus smart, mouthy, teen girls rock.
