One night can change everything…
The crew at Boston’s Brazen Head Pub hasn’t been very lucky in love. Can a mysterious visitor inspire them to look past old hurts and misconceptions and give romance a chance? One Lucky Night is a collection of five sexy interwoven novelettes by Aria Kane, Grace Teague, Ana Blaze, Constance Phillips, and Melinda Dozier.
Lucky Break by Aria Kane
Four years ago, chef Derek Chase walked out of Andrea Rivera’s life after a tragedy neither of them were prepared to deal with. When she’s called to the Brazen Head to repair a dishwasher, old sparks ignite buried feelings.
Lucky Star by Grace Teague
When her life is threatened by a mugger, Charlotte Price realizes she's in love with her best friend, Tommy Leung. The Brazen Head seems like the perfect neutral place to confess her feelings, but nothing goes according to plan.
A New Tune by Ana Blaze
When it comes to dating, Holly Hall has one unbreakable rule: no musicians. Not even gorgeous ones. Especially not gorgeous ones. Dating them only leads to heartbreak. So why did she let singer-songwriter Cian O’Neill kiss her? And why is she thinking about doing it again?
Lexi’s Chance by Constance Phillips
As a bartender, Sean Whelan meets all kinds of women every night, but none turn his head the way that Lexi has. She’s been playing cat and mouse with him for weeks. Tonight, Sean’s determined to get Lexi to quit teasing and take a real chance on him.
Drink or Dare by Melinda Dozier
A bachelorette party Drink or Dare game pairs paramedic students, Rachel Robertson and Killian Whelan, in a flirting match. Soon, the dares threaten to turn their academic rivalry into something much more.

Five authors, five
short, five beautiful stories, and One Lucky Night.
It started with
Aria Kane’s Lucky break – and this one is my favorite among the five (although
they are all really great!), but this is a book about second chances,
forgiveness, and moving on. Derek Chase, the chef in the bar walked out of
Andrea Rivera’s life after a tragedy that left them broken. Grief and guilt had
kept them apart, and now, after four years fate had allowed them back together.
Andy, a handyman (or woman for that matter) was called to repair the
dishwasher, Derek wasn’t prepared to see her, and he wasn’t prepared for the
sudden onslaught of the old feelings he has for her. Hopefully this time, he
wouldn’t let her go. As for Andy, she allowed him to leave her all those years,
but now, she wanted to know why he left her all those years. Will they be able
to pass through the grief and guilt and start what they should have started
four years ago?
Grace Teague’s
Lucky Star is all about taking risks and being honest about how you feel. It
took a near death experience after being threatened by a mugger for Charlotte
Price to realize that she’s in love with her best friend Tommy and she needed
to tell him that. She wanted to tell him in the Brazen Head, but it seems fate
has another thing in store for them. Tommy just got out from a relationship
with Charlotte’s best friend, and that was one year ago. I just knew he has
feelings for her too! It can’t be one sided, right?! I couldn’t let her confess
her feelings if he doesn’t feel the same – their friendship would never be the
same again! Good thing, it was their lucky night despite the snow.
Ana Blaze’s A New
Turne is all about Holly Hall and Cian O’Neill. If the first story was my
favorite, Ana Blaze gave me my book boyfriend! – I love this guy! Totally! He
was smooth, and charming. He knew she would be his girlfriend and he was
patient enough to wait for the right time. But Holly had been burned before and
dating him would be a gross mistake for her. Will she be strong enough to
resist his charms and kisses?
Constance Phillip’s
Lexi’s Chance gave me my favorite female lead. Lexi was an amazing girl who’s
out to save the world. It started when a tragedy strike her family under her
watch. It has been eating her since then. So in return, she helps anyone who
has needed it. Sean, on the other hand, knows how to flirt. He knew it brings
out the tips, but Lexi was different. She was one of the regulars whom he
secretly awaits during Friday nights. She’d been playing cat and mouse with him
for weeks, and tonight, he was determined to make her know what he feels. What
he didn’t expect is to get inside her world and know her deeply than he can
ever imagine. Forgiveness starts with forgiving yourself. Lexi has been to hard
with herself and didn’t allow herself much happiness because of the guilt that
she was feeling. I was glad she took this chance, she deserves all the
happiness she can get after being a superhero.
My favorite couple
goes to this last book – Melinda Dozier’s Drink or Dare. I already loved the
kilt-wearing Killian since I read about him all those previous stories. I
wonder what his will be. He was paired with his genius-fact-spilling nemesis
Rachel Robertson. She was in for a bachelorette party in the Brazen Head. What
she didn’t expect was the dare that was given to her to flirt with the guy who
has been arguing with her every chance he got during their paramedic classes.
Soon, they found themselves in a flirting match, and the arguments, all those
academic rivalry turned out to be one-long foreplay. They were fun to read
because of those arguments, and there were times I wished Killian would kiss
her to shut up. Rachel was charming trying to give out facts every now and
then, she just couldn’t help herself.
This anthology had
made my night. I have always loved short, fast-paced story that can make me
swoon, and fall in love. This anthology had me falling not just once, but five
times! Not to mention, it had made my hair rise with the creepy little thing
going on inside the bar with regards to this mysterious visitor that seemed to
be making them all lucky.

"Drink or Dare" by Melinda Dozier from One Lucky Night
To hell with it. This was a bachelorette party and she’d live it up. If it included her hard-ass classmate, then even better.
“Here you go.” Killian’s big hands placed the shots in front of each of them, then he put his tray on the table and scrutinized them all. “Ladies, pick up your shot glasses.” When every one of them did, he continued, “Here's to a long life and a merry one. A quick death and an easy one. A handsome guy and an honest one. A cold pint and another one! Or in your cases, Orgasms.” His thin eyebrows shot up and down.
When he said ‘orgasms’ his ‘s’ vibrated around her, sending a warmth through her chest that frightened her for a second. He really had that kind of effect on her. Relaxed and in such close proximity, she knew he could be dangerous.
She didn’t realize she was staring at him until all her friends took their shots. She held her glass up and gawked back at the man who shook her.
He stood with both hands on his hips and a huge smile on his face. Totally and completely endearing.
“What are you standing there for?” She asked putting her glass back down on the table.
“I’ve got to see this.” He shook his palm in the air, egging her on, a smile dazzling his perfectly chiseled face. “Go ahead. Drink.”
She jutted her chin up. “See what?”
“You getting drunk. I never thought I’d see the day.”
“The truth is that only 23% of drinkers get drunk on their first shot.”
He shook his head, rubbing his chin with his thumb and forefinger and laughed. “There you go spouting off numbers again.” He leaned in to move a stray hair from her cheek.
Oh, that was nice. “Well, it’s a fact.”
He scooted her shot glass closer. “Drink.”
Her friends whistled and Jasmine chanted, “Drink, drink, drink.”
She swallowed the creamy, sweet shot in one gulp and sputtered for breath. She tried to hold back the cough, but couldn’t.
Killian rubbed her back with a chuckle and leaned in, his breath in her ear, and again that tingle settled in her belly and even lower. “Too sweet? It wasn’t so bad, was it?”
She turned her head and their chins, cheeks and lips almost touched. “Give me another.”
His eyebrows rose. “Well, well, little Ms. Bookish turns wild.” He picked up his tray, twirling it on his pointer finger, and sauntered to the bar. And she missed him. That closeness, feeling his breath, his smile directed to her.
Rachel twisted to see her friends staring at her with knowing glances. Meghan pointed a know-it-all finger at her. “See. He’s interested.”
Rachel took a deep breath and leaned on the table. “Drink or Dare it is. Let the real fun begin.”
