Your
heart would definitely go for Daisy – a daughter of a Renegade son whom we all
have met in the first book. She has been neglected by her father, who preferred
a bottle of booze and constantly passing out forgetting about her. But I think
her father was better, because despite the constant drinking, he still has
affections for her unlike her mother who do not have a good bone in her body. I
hated her, and I’m sure you’ll hate her too. She was so selfish, I wonder why
Maker (Daisy’s father) wouldn’t just divorce her, or better, get rid of her.
She
didn’t want to follow her footsteps, she wanted a different future for her –
something that would keep her close to her family, but out of the club. She was
constantly struggling, taking care of her father, saving for her future, and
trying to stay away from her mother – she has a full on her plat and she didn’t
need Preach to add to the equation. He is everything she swore she didn’t want
in her life – but he was too irresistible and it was futile to deny him. The
attraction was off the charts, and the sexual tension was instantly felt when
they’re together in the room. Problem is, Preach couldn’t claim her still until
she reached eighteen.
One
night of passion is all it takes for her world to shift, and there was no going
back for her. Just as when she was ready to get herself branded, Preach does
something unforgivable that will drive her away for three years.
Preach
Austin had lived his young life suffering from the roughness of their father’s
upbringing. It wasn’t then when he hit her sister that he had lost it. He was
sent off to prison where he met Kidd – since then he wanted nothing more but to
be a member of the Renegade MC. All he wanted to do was to get over from the
nightmares of his past until Daisy came into his life.
I
don’t know what went wrong and why the heck did he do it – but Arrrrrghhhh! He just
ruined what could have been the best thing that ever happened to him! I so
hated him for it – although he suffered too, because when Daisy discovered his
secret his life went spiraling down. And liking him at this point? It was so
hard to do. He keeps on messing up his chances, doing one stupid thing after
the other. I couldn’t really blame Daisy why she tried her best in staying
away. Her trust was ruined, and it would take a whole lot more before it was
restored. A lot of groveling, begging, and giving up something he was
accustomed to for some years. Would he be able to gain her trust once again? Or
would he lose her for good?
Now,
someone wants Daisy too, and she’s about to move on – it’s when he realizes
what he is about to lose. Can he prove that he could change? That he would
never break her heart again?
I
didn’t expect it will take a little while before Preach had some senses knocked
into his head and finally gathered his act and made Daisy his. It was a little
tiring to see him ruin things for the both of them over and over again. They
were meant for each other – but circumstances, reality and a meddling no-good
mother would get in the way. As time goes, instead of getting closer, they grow
apart, wounds start to get deeper, and it seems it would be too late to patch
things up if things would go this path.
I
must admit, I was curious about this two – theirs was more complicated, and
more tangled up. Dawn Martens and Emily Minton will give you characters that
you will both love and hate, you will once again meet the old characters from
the first novel, and you will get into the web of deceit, lies, and secrets
that will make you hooked into this Renegade sequel. It’s still steamy, raw and
screaming of sex. The emotions are all over some pages, and for a while I have
a doubt of what the ending would be. I was just soooo glad that Preach saw the
light, and finally did the right thing without messing up.

“Can you do me a favor, brother?”Timber lifts his chin. “What’cha need?”Lifting a nearly empty bottle of beer, Maker motions for the prospect to bring him another. “I was supposed to pick up Little Flower, but I’m too drunk to have her on my bike. Can you run down to the diner and take her home?”“If you knew you had to pick up your daughter, why the hell have you been drinking?”He shrugs. “I didn’t mean to get drunk, but it just happened.”“If you for once put the beer down, it wouldn’t just happen,” Timber mumbles under his breath before looking toward me. “You wanna take a ride?”Nodding, I stand up and follow him outside. “I didn’t know Maker had a kid.”“He’s got a daughter, and she’s probably the prettiest little thing you’ve ever seen. His bitch of a wife keeps her away from the club, so she’s not around much. ”“Lula’s always here. Why doesn’t she let the girl come around?”He slides onto his bike before answering me. “Lula likes to be the center of attention. When her daughter’s around, she’s nothing but a shadow.”I climb onto my bike, wondering what is so special about this kid.
