Blue Lines by Toni Aleo - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

Blue Lines
Nashville Assassins #4
Toni Aleo
Opposites do more than just attract in Toni Aleo’s latest Nashville Assassins novel about a very bad boy and the good girl he can’t resist.

The instant Piper Allen sees Erik Titov, she wants him—wants his rock-hard body, sure, but the strength and mystery that lies behind that superstar hockey jock demeanor, too. So when he sidles up to her at a bar and slinks his arm around her waist, she’s lost. What follows is the wildest night of her life . . . followed by inevitable heartbreak the next morning. And then, a few weeks later, a very big surprise: two blue lines on a pregnancy test.

Only a check to the head could make Erik fall for a nice girl like Piper. But since their crazy-sexy night together, he’s been trying to forget about her alluring body by falling into bed with every woman in Nashville, and it’s not working. So when Piper shows up at his house with a baby-bomb to drop, it doesn’t take much for Erik to suggest the nuclear option: marriage. While it’s supposed to be all for show, the second they say “I do,” the ice between them starts to melt into sizzling steam.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: Taking Shots, Trying to Score, and Empty Net.

MY REVIEW -
CAUTION: Box of Kleenex needed within arm’s range.

Because Toni Aleo has done it again – she had me in tears, with my heart constantly breaking, and aching.

ARGHHHH!

At first, I honestly don’t know how can she possibly redeem Erik after all he did to Piper. He was a class-A jerk who doesn’t know a good thing even if it slaps him in the face.

YES YOU ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!

All she wanted to…

But all he did was…

She is a good girl, a breath of fresh air and all she wanted is ERIK TITOV. When finally he gave her the attention, time and one heck of a night – she thought she finally her dreams are coming true. But no, because came morning, he was gone, not without telling her that last night was a mistake – OUCH. Then, a few weeks later, she was in for another big surprise when she found out that she was pregnant.

He’s a VERY bad boy, he wanted all the girls, but no matter what or who he does – he couldn’t let go of the memory of their night together. He started to avoid her, but when she showed up in his house six months after and gave him the news of the century, SURPRISE was the understatement. He didn’t take it well, and had a mild panic attack. After all of it had subsided, he finally decided that they should get married… and stay married at least until the baby is born.

She wanted it to work big time. But he didn’t. Just as when she thought he was letting her in, his walls hardened. It didn’t help when he keeps on reminding her that all of these was going to end…

I hated him. I hated him. I hated him.

I thought I’m going to hate Erick forever. Good thing I’m didn’t stop reading until the end page. Just when I thought he was a hopeless case. Erik had proved me wrong. But not without making me cry a whole lot at first. Because this novel – it is just heartbreaking, but nevertheless beautiful.

I love Piper, she's a strong one, a toughie and it would take a whole lot of hurting before she gave up on him. She may not settle on one career, but she knew what she loved to do, and she's not afraid to do new things on her own. At first, I thought she was crazy enough to push herself to a person who doesn't want her that much - but I was wrong. Because this amazing girl is perfect for our guy! I may have wanted to kill Erik at first, but after hearing his side of the story, his suffering, baggage and his doubts, I think he may have break the walls in my heart a little bit. But it really doesn't excuse him for being an a** to Piper.

Toni Aleo, I didn’t think I could have loved you more after LET IT BE ME. This had me crying my heart out, but you have given me an amazing love story that kept me most of the night, and despite my puffy eyes, it had left me with a big smile. Indeed, some things are worth all the wait, the sacrifices and the tears.

EXCERPT -
Piper gazed into Erik’s eyes. With the noise in the bar, there was no mistaking what he’d said.
Masking her dismay with a sly grin, she said, “Who told you that nonsense?”
“Nonsense? I think not; my source is very reliable.”
As he looked off to the side Piper followed his gaze as it landed on her best friend Audrey. OMG, that slut. Audrey was in the middle of the dance floor grinding it with Tate Odder, the main goalie for the Assassins hockey team. Piper could not believe that her friend would’ve revealed that bit of information but if Audrey did she would totally have to rethink their BFF status. “That bitch,” she muttered.
“But I thought it was all nonsense,” Erik said slowly, bringing her attention back to him.

  1. I can't wait to read this. I love that unlike the past Assassin heroes, Erik is deeply flawed. No perfect Shea Adler here--just the sexy, flawed, meany Erik Titov. I'm so excited.
