Worth the Fight by Vi Keeland - Book Review

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same. Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

*Standalone, HEA

MY REVIEW -

Nico didn’t mean to kill him…

According to the referee, it was a clean hit. But it didn’t matter – because one hit, and his opponent had stopped breathing. He was haunted by the memory that he had stopped playing in the cage and opted to brood. Until he went into her office to seek legal advice. This one hotshot lawyer had him feeling something he didn’t realize he was still capable of…

Elle meant to kill him…

Elle had a great life. She’s a lawyer in a small-law firm, but she loves her job, she has a great friend, an apartment and a guy she had been dating since law school – a total catch: he’s handsome, stable and… boring. But she likes to keep it that way, a plethora of emotions can be a little dangerous. Then he came in to her office… it took one look…

They are way so different…

But little did they know, they share almost the same past that had been haunting them for a while.

Both of them have secrets they would prefer to keep. My heart goes to Elle, for everything she had been through. At first, I was wondering, what’s with the nightmares? What could possibly happen to this near-perfect girl? When I finally found out the truth – it was painfully heartbreaking for a young girl to experience and witness such traumatic event. She may have survived physically unscathed, but emotionally? Psychologically? She was broken…

Both of them may have been broken in the past, but together, they are perfect for each other. The attraction, sexual tension and chemistry were seriously off the charts. I was glad he waited until he was sure she was free from any commitment, and when she finally is – he didn’t wait one more minute. However, it would take more than just attraction for them to break their walls and let each other in. Because it would take more than great sex for a relationship to flourish – it takes a whole lot of trust and honesty. Are they ready to bare their souls to each other? Their relationship may not survive the truth…

More than just those steamy scenes that can make you pant till you come by just reading, this is an amazing novel about two broken people who met, fell in love, fought all their demons and finally got their HEA.

AUTHOR BIO -
Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work.  She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting smut author by night!
