MY REVIEW -

FIRST - cheers to the bad-girl-turned-good.

THEN –

I can feel my chest tightening as I read the novel…

Because I am dreadfully waiting for the IMPENDING DOOM – if Zach finds out about her past – what would happen???!

Kyra Armijo had a wild past. As past being the operative word here, she’s starting to change her ways. She no longer sleeps around, break curfews, or drinks. She gained herself straight A’s in school. All she wanted to do was to secure her future, be a better person and find a great guy who will love her despite of everything else.

However, an opportunity to get on tour with a popular HOT band, Triple Cross, was offered to her. Kyra knew it was a chance of a lifetime, and she couldn’t let the opportunity past. Problem is though, she’s falling in love with a band member who has a good boy tattooed on his forehead, and has no idea about the “previous” HER while trying to escape the unwanted attention of another who knew a lot about her past.

Triple Cross is a wholesome band, approved by her parents and is loved by millions all over the planet, they had just fired their longtime manager who ruled the group with an iron fist and maintained their clean image. Now, they have a new manager, and a director-producer who follows them with cameras and records just about everything they do. And now Zach, Kyra’s object of affection, is showing interest in her. How can she possibly tell him about her past when he told her he wasn’t into those types of girls? When the media digs out her past – it will go frenzy and may affect the band big time. One bad decision, one slip, one truth can have the band swirling down from the pinnacle of success.

If you think the front stage set is crazy, wait till you get back stage, and on tour. With all the media eyes on you, and the paparazzi waiting for you to slip up and do something crazy, it was one heck of a ride.

It isn’t easy to change. It is even harder to convince people that you have indeed change. Kyra is an amazing girl who had done things in her past that she wasn’t really proud of, but is now making up for it. Her father and her step-mother trusted her 100%. (I wish I had the chance to know her past before this, because she was really surprised that they have given her a leeway to do what she wants). Nevertheless, she must have done something really good that she regained the trust of the people close to her. I like her relationship with Jason, not just because it allowed her access to the rich and famous in the showbizness, but he actually care about this girl, despite everything. Chloe, Jason’s wife, also adored her. (I wonder if they would have their own story – because I think theirs would be interesting as well). But, I love her father the most – for giving her another chance, trust and loving her immensely despite her imperfections.

I enjoyed reading these book – all those paparazzi chase, the changes in every characters and the relationship between them. It gives us a glimpse of the imperfections behind the stage and under the limelight. Reminds the readers that these artists, no matter how popular they are, they’re still humans and is capable of making mistakes. BUT what I love about this book the most is that it tells us that people have the power to change and you can’t hold their past against them. It is easy to judge without knowing what the other has been through.

EM Tippets - with all teary eyes, would just like to say...

... you've nailed it once again: YOU wrote a book that have captivated me :)
