Layla Flaherty had the perfect life, or close to it. Until a stranger gunned her parents down right in front of her, leaving her with seizure inducing PTSD. After years of trying to pass as normal and failing miserably, she resigns herself to being invisible. But new to town Landen O’Brien sees her, and he likes what he sees. Much to Layla’s surprise, he doesn’t freak out when she has a seizure in front of him. He does the exact opposite, calming her until the tremors subside. But Landen has secrets of his own. Secrets that both bind them together and tear them apart.
Scarred by loss, Layla leaves her hometown of Hope Springs, Georgia, hoping to put her painful past behind her and start over in college in California. When she runs into Landen at freshmen orientation, she has a choice to make. Reinforce those steel walls she's built up around herself or give the only boy who can keep her still a second chance.
Landen’s more than ready to tear down those walls but this time when they come crashing down, they might bury her.

MY REVIEW -
Reading the blurb – I knew I need
to get ready for another heartbreaking story…
Layla Flaherty had the perfect
family, not until some stranger shot her parents down right in front of her –
leaving her not just emotionally traumatized but with a brain injury resulting
to seizures. She tried to live her life as normally as possible, but with
conditions some people could not understand, she became a pariah. Her aunt
decided to have her homeschooled, until her senior year when she finally put her
foot down and decided to go back to school.
Then Landen O’Brien comes to
Hope Springs and gave her his time of the day. He didn’t give a damn when he
finally knew her secret. He accepted her with open arms, calming her instead of
leaving her. But Landen has his own secrets that can make and break the both of
them apart.
Layla decides to leave Hope
Springs, including her painful past behind and start over in college in
California – somewhere she didn’t plan to go at all. Then she runs into Landen
at freshmen orientation much to her surprise. She decided that she has a choice
to make: give him a second chance, or keep the walls up her heart.
Landen decided he would not
give up this time, no matter how much she ignores him. But then, he had another
secret this time, one that might destroy the fragile second chance that fate
handed him.
Let You Leave offered me a
glimpse of how Landen and Layla met. It was fate that the both of them found
each other. Layla finally found someone who would accept her no matter what,
gave her security and safety that she unconsciously craved. They became friends
first, and worked their way from there. He would be her first boyfriend, her
first kiss, her first… But some things, no matter how perfect they might be isn’t
meant to happen NOW – with their broken promises and hearts, they have separated,
only to find each other once again…
The novel itself was
beautiful, at college, both of them have found friends, Corin and Skylar that
aren’t afraid to knock some senses into the both of them, and are still there
when they are needed the most. I’m almost afraid of Landen’s temper, he blows
up every now and then, but it’s probably (sexual) frustration speaking for him.
I just know he won’t hurt her no matter what. I understand why he needed to
keep his secret, and I loved him even more when he decided to give up a lot of
things just to be with her…
When the cat was finally out
of the bag, Layla was once again heartbroken. I wished she’d hear him first.
After all, she knew she made a mistake the first instance she ran away instead
of hearing him explain and letting him go. Thank goodness for Corin who made
her see things…
I love Layla and Landen, and I
love Caisey Quinn. Keep Me Still is an amazing read and it had me glued. You
won’t be wasting your time reading this. The cover is fantastic. The story was
beautiful, exciting, hot and a little bit heartbreaking. Nevertheless, she did give
me an amazing ending and a rush of excitement with a sneak peek for HOLD US
CLOSE.
