Two years later, Trace and Olivia are as much in love as they’ve always been. But the spark they once had for life is waning and Trace is determined that they find it again. His solution? A road trip. But he doesn’t tell Olivia the real reason they’re heading north.

Olivia is happy to go on a road trip and have more adventures with Trace. Besides, she needs a distraction from the soap opera her life has become. With college over, this is the perfect opportunity to chase down the carefree girl she once was.

But life isn’t a fairytale and you can only escape reality for so long.

Love, laughs, and a hidden agenda.

That’s the name of the game when you’re Chasing Olivia.

(This book finishes Trace and Olivia's story. Book 1 is titled Finding Olivia)

Finding Olivia (Trace + Olivia #1) - 4 Stars

I liked the first book in the Trace and Olivia Series, Finding Olivia – but the second book is indeed a charm. No first-book syndrome for this one - because I fell in love with it one chapter at a time.

Two years later, Trace and Olivia were pretty much still in love with each other but were acting more like a married old couple. Trace decided to go to a road trip to bring the spark back not just into their relationship but into their lives as well. He tells Olivia they would be heading north, but not the real reason why. This REASON had caused me my tears while reading this story. I thought I would just be laughing and smiling, and then all of a sudden, one knock, a door was opened, and boom! One heck of a surprise for Olivia, and for ME.

Olivia needed this road trip. Her mother just got married to a man two years older than her. She just graduated from college, and is torn between applying for a job and writing a book. This is one perfect opportunity for her to think, to live life before it becomes tedious and to spend time with a guy she loved most.

They knew they needed it, but never really realized how much this trip would change them both…

I must insert one more book boyfriend into my heart, there should be another space for TRACE

He’s totally charming, his humor was greatly appreciated, he’s so naughty but in a good way, he was not shy about his emotions, I love that he sings, he’s really down to earth, he would do ANYTHING for her, he gives her so much surprises and there is just a lot of good things about him I like. This road trip is not just for Olivia but for him as well. He needed a breather, and an escape. Because just when everything falls into its proper place, a tragedy looms over his head.

I find this book more beautiful than the first one because I couldn’t keep myself from smiling. It started out to be a feel-good book – Trace and Olivia - road trip, okay… but what I didn’t expect was the surprises along the way, the people they meet that would change their lives and the people they would lose which is just heartbreaking. It was an unexpected, but it didn’t make the story less beautiful. This was one great road trip every reader would enjoy and look forward too. As for me, I couldn’t wait for Trent’s book!!

Knock.
Knock.
Knock.
Bang.
Knock.

With a groan, I sat up. What the heck was going on? It had to be the middle of the night.
I climbed from the bed to investigate the strange sound. I couldn’t decide if it was someone knocking on the apartment door or something else. The noise was strange…
Once I was out of the bedroom, it was easy to deduce that the noise was, indeed, someone at the door. But they definitely weren’t knocking on it with their fist. It sounded more like they were using their whole body…or head…
Scared to go to the door—because let’s face it, I wasn’t exactly the strongest person on the planet—I went to wake up Trace.
“Trace,” I pushed his shoulder, trying to rouse him from sleep. “Trace,” I shook him a bit harder.
“Huh?” His eyes cracked open a bit, just a thin slit of green showing through.
“There’s someone at the door,” I hissed.

“What time is it?” He rubbed his eyes, yawning.
“Two,” I muttered, looking at the clock beside the bed. “I don’t know who it is and I’m scared to open the door,” I admitted reluctantly, playing with the ends of my hair.
He sat up and rolled out of bed, pulling on a pair of jeans, which he left unbuttoned. “I’ll check it out,” he assured me, kissing the end of my nose.
I tiptoed behind him and out of the bedroom. He undid the deadbolt and slowly opened the door.
Whoever was standing there fell into his arms.
“Avery?” I gasped, taking in the vibrant red hair.
“Mhmmmmitsme,” she slurred drunkenly.
Since she seemed to have lost the ability to move her legs, Trace picked her up, and gently laid her down on the couch.
I grabbed a bottle of water before kneeling beside her. She was completely wasted and the dress she’d worn to Nick and Nora’s wedding was ruined. It was covered in grass and mud stains, as was her body.
My eyes widened, zeroing in on something wrapped around her neck. I gasped when I realized what it was.
“Avery! Why is your underwear around your neck?” I bit my lip to hold back laughter. I mean, it wasn’t every day your best friend showed up at your place drunk with underwear around her neck.
“Huh?” She looked at me with bleary eyes and fingered the silky string of fabric around her neck. “Must have taken em’ off.”
“Obviously,” I snorted. “What were you doing?”
“I’m pretty sure it involved beer and sex in a field…by the way, don’t ever try that,” she warned Trace and me, pointing at us with a shaky finger, “it really itches.”
