Out of Time by Jen McLaughlin - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

Desperate to keep him...

I've finally gotten everything I ever wanted: love, freedom, happiness, and, most importantly, Finn. Our love is everything I expected it to be and more. We've finally found each other, but the world seems determined to tear us apart. We thought my father was the only obstacle between us, but now it's the military. With Finn’s departure looming, we’re squeezing in every moment together before we run out of time.

Trying to make every moment count…

Being Carrie’s bodyguard was one thing. Being her boyfriend is another. Every day she’s mine is a day the sun shines in my life. Yet our time together is running out. Her father will never think a tattooed Marine will be good enough, so I’ll do whatever it takes to be worthy of her love. But the road will take me away from the girl who makes me feel alive--the girl I can't live without.

Time only gets us so far...

Finally Finn and Carrie are together, and their love is so much stronger. But, her dad doesn’t know about the two of them yet, and they intend to keep it that way – FOR NOW.

She just wanted to be with him.

He was everything every girl is been dreaming of: he was a marine, a sexy-surfer and HER BOYFRIEND. However Finn is still her bodyguard until her father found out about them. They had a wonderful relationship, and enjoyed their time alone together. Carrie thought that her father was the only one who stands in their way – but no. Finn received a call from the military, asking him to report in. With his deployment looming above their heads, they make the best out of their time alone – squeezing every second that they got before he finally go.

She is her boyfriend. But she’s still her body guard. He tries to give her everything that he can, he will even sacrifice to be in a suit – wine and dine her, take her on a limo to make her happy. He was willing to do anything for him to be worthy of her. He would even sacrifice his life just for her. Now, he had to go for him, for them, for their future together. He just hoped that the sun was shining enough for the both of them until he comes back. He was sent for a dangerous mention he can’t tell anyone… even her.

It might have killed her for the both of them to be apart to each other, and took a lot of push from friends for her to finally live again, and start to socialize with others. But nothing is ever the same without Finn beside her.

I might not have read first how these two fall in love, but trust me when I say, it didn’t take a whole lot of pages to feel how much these two are crazy about each other. I love how Carrie is down to earth, and is willing to eat burgers in fast food joints rather than steaks in restaurants. I love how Finn loved Carrie – intensely, sincerely. He would give her the moon if she asked, but she never would. Because Finn is enough for her. How I wished that it is also enough for her father.

It took one tragedy for Carrie to finally let her father know how much she loved Finn, and she would do just about anything for him – even defy her father. My heart broke on the last chapter. I knew something is going to happen! Something bad, something dreadful… Nevertheless, even though it ended with a cliffhanger that had me excited for the next book in the series, it had left me hopeful that in the next book in the series, the sun will still be shining.
