A Long Time Coming by Heather Van Fleet - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

Abigail Orson has a problem. A love problem to be precise; and she has absolutely no idea how to go about fixing it.

For years now, she has been chasing her best friend’s brother—demanding things from him that he’s never wanted to give. For one? A real relationship that surpasses well beyond that dreaded ‘just friends’ zone. You see, David Anderson is her idea of perfection to a T. The one and only guy who has ever had the ability to make her heart beat faster; make her toes curl with the simple blink of his long, girly lashes. But David is also a recovering amputee, and the only thing he really wants from Abigail is to be left alone. Abigail is a fighter though, and losing the one guy who has ruined her for every other is no longer an option.

A guy with one leg who has lost his motivation to live—to love—to actually be a man. David believes he’s a waste of space. If only the beautiful girl of his unattainable dreams would get that through her perfect, blonde, stubborn head! He’s not the right guy for Abigail. He’ll never be worthy of what she deserves. However, staying away is almost impossible, especially when he’s just as in love with her as she is with him. But Abigail has a life ahead of her, one that’s definitely livable without a nineteen–year–old gimp like him holding her down. What makes her want to stick around is beyond questionable to David’s mind.

Choices will be made. Lines will be drawn. And together, they will face challenges that nobody saw coming. David and Abigail may have had almost fourteen years to fall in love, but the thing is, timing and love have never exactly worked in their favor.

It has been years in the making, and definitely A Long Time Coming for David and Abigail. Let’s hope they don’t screw it up before they actually have the chance to get it right…

 MY REVIEW -

Abigail has been in love with David for fourteen years, and she’s always been sure that it is him whom she wanted to be with. But the accident happen, and the old friendship, and an almost budding relationship came to a halt when David started to change the moment he lost his leg – it didn’t mean though, that she loved him any less.

She didn’t care that David has lost one of his legs, or that he was always cranky, or he has any more baggage than the next flight home – all she wanted was to be with him. Life takes a funny curve, and she ended up with a big problem… and she didn’t know how to start solving it without involving HIM.

I wanted the both of them to be together since I have read Mason and Harley’s story – I just knew that no matter how David resist her, the both of them were meant to be together. No one could love him as much as Abigail does. Now if only he sees through his insecurities and realize that she wanted nothing else but his love, then everything would be fine.

But with all the insecurities eating him, not to mention all those perfect boys surrounding Abigail, David thinks he’s too broken for her. Good thing that Abigail is a fighter, and would DO everything to prove to him he’s all she need, especially RIGHT NOW.

On the other hand, their love life wasn’t only the problem, just as when everything seems perfect, fate throws them fatal blows that I even didn’t see coming. Their love, friendship and relationship is tested. It may have took them almost a lifetime to find a way into each other – but it seems fate has other things in mind.

It might have been a long time coming, but David and Abigail made sure it is worth our while as they fight together for their love, their family, their relationship and their lives.

My expectations were met, and I have never been more in love with David or more in awe of Abigail as I am today after reading the novel. It may have taken them a long time, and I might have wonder at times if both of them could really make it together – but nevertheless, IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT. Because in the end, Heather Van Fleet made a great story about two amazing characters who were meant to be together since the start, and have endured, and got through the bleakest and most challenging times of their lives – stronger than before.

BOOK TRAILER -

AUTHOR BIO -
I currently reside in northern Illinois, with my three

little ladies, and my fabulous hubby (and high school sweetheart) Chris. I'm
a stay at home mom by day, and an avid and completely obsessive
writer and reader by night.

I've always had a soft spot in my heart for books, so of course I've been
creating my own little stories since the age of seven. To be honest though, I
never really had the confidence or the time to actually sit down and really do
something about it until my youngest daugther Isabella was born just two years ago.
Bella, as well as her older sisters Kelsey and Emma, are and always will be, my
greatest inspirations.

Resisting Fate, book one in the Pre-Determined trilogy, is my young adult,
paranormal baby! It’s packed full of wolves…witches…and one sassy little
red-headed teenage girl! I had an absolute blast writing it, and can’t
wait to share it with the world! Resisting Fate will be released February 8th,
2013 through Midnight Hour Publishing.
