Accidently, or by means of fate – they have crossed paths in the festival and gave in to the throes of passion until Max realized that she wasn’t ready, and Treat had realized he had made a mistake which can cause him to lose Max completely.

Treat has been afraid to give his heart to someone. He had seen how devastated his father had been when his mother died. He was never the same again. It was like, half of his heart was buried along with her. He didn’t want that to happened, so like a coward he ran away. He didn’t realize it was a mistake until he had already left and is missing her terribly. He had tried his best to woo her, give her space, give her everything that she might need, and even give up some of his acquisitions to be with her – but it seems the more he tries to get into her heart, the more barriers come up. Just as when he thought she was giving him a chance, suddenly, she was letting him go.

As much as I was frustrated watching her let him go – because trust me, if that man exists honey, I’d be waiting for her to drop him and I’d be catching him instantly. He’s almost perfect! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! Ah yes, her past. It had been bothering her too much. There were times I wished she’d be honest with her feelings for him because he was already pouring his heart out to her. Nevertheless, she had my heart when she finally got the courage to face her demons and let out her inner vixen in the near end. You go girl!

It’s Melissa Foster – I always had a grand time reading her contemporary romance novels. It had always made me fall in love and this – LOVERS AT HEART – didn’t disappoint. I love how the two of them finally got their heads out of their ass and realize they are meant to be together. But most especially, my favorite scene in this novel is not the steamy scene that can make you pant like horses – but the scene with Treat and his family. Awww. It was so touching, it almost had me in tears. More than just a love story that can make you swoon, Lovers at Heart is all about family – the triumphs and failures, the ups and downs, the celebrations and fights – it doesn’t matter where life takes you or what you make of yourself, because in the long run you will always come back home – to where your family is because they will be the only ones who will not judge, but will love you unconditionally.
