Jag Jensen and Ellen Love had been best friends their whole lives until he turned thirteen and started noticing girls his own age, but that didn’t mean he stopped watching out for eleven-year-old Ellen. By his senior year in high school, baseball had taken the front seat in his life, with a scholarship to college and a pro career looming on the horizon, when sophomore Ellen caught his attention and they struck up their friendship again. Although Ellen wanted more, Jag didn’t want to drag her into what he knew would be a crazy life, but love has a way of deciding one’s future, and eventually they became a couple. Ellen followed him to California as he began his pro career, but his wild and hectic lifestyle screwed everything up.
Now Jag is lost, realizing he’s never been without his best friend in his life. Learning to live without Ellen doesn’t settle well with him, so while trying to remain at the top of his career, he also wants to get his girl back, which proves to be more difficult than he thought it’d be. Will Ellen give him another chance or does that sort of thing only happen in the sappy romance novels she always used to read? Jag hopes she’s willing to try again as he puts his heart on the line for the woman he knows will always be his forever and a day.

It’s
Ellen Love’s POV and it tells her version of their LOVE STORY, from she was
five, on how it all started, down to the point where he broke her heart.
She
had loved him since she was five, and he was seven. He was her first
everything.
Jag
and Ellen were perfect for each other. They had spent their childhood together,
being friends and despite the fact they have drifted apart in his teens, they
have reunited after five years and continued as if those years didn’t happen at
all.
He
was her first love – she wanted to give it all to him. It was adorable that JAG
was willing to wait for her. After all, he had waited a long time already, what’s
a few more. So for years, they didn’t sleep together. Touch some bases but
never get that far. How Jag sustained, I can never tell. But his control, his
willingness to wait was really admirable. It was noble of him. Although nobility
doesn’t really keep his bed warm at night (;.
She
followed him when he was drafted with the Dodgers, she transferred college and
left everything behind her. Maybe this is where it all started, when she
decided to leave everything she was accustomed to having for him. Suddenly, her
life revolved around him. When life gets tough, and when no support system
present around her, she started to spiral down.
Their
relationship starts to weigh heavily on her, no thanks to his jerk agent, and a
lingerie supermodel. They seem to do everything to keep them both apart, which
breaks my heart. How can something THAT solid, THAT long, and THAT tough kind
of relationship suddenly breaks apart?
I
wish he stood up for her, he told Alessandra to just get the hell out, or give
her the heads up, I wish I can get into his freakin mind. The DUAL POV would
sound perfect at that point of the novel. Nevertheless, this was a great book
to start off the series. The ending had me craving for the next, good thing it’s
available!

Finally
Jag’s POV!
One
thing is for sure though: MAKE UP SEX IS
REALLY HOT!
I
had wanted to get inside Jag’s brain the moment he renewed their friendship
after five years. This guy had been nothing but amazing – a little gullible,
and sometimes clueless, but amazing nonetheless. You know why? Because despite
all those sexy, and beautiful model surrounding him – he was able to keep his
d**k on his pants. Great, huh?
He
waited all these time for Ellen, why waste her trust?
After
putting down the first book, I immediately opened the second book. Trust me,
you needed to read the first one, although this book offered Jag’s version of
their story. The ending made me stop breathing – was it really happening? Were they
saying, what I thought they were saying?
Oh
yes, they are. California, girls, practices, and insecurities apparently don’t
mix. Ellen might have been constantly being reassured by Jag – but hey, this
girl is just human. She is bound to experience insecurities no matter how
unfounded they may be. Jag was a guy, he’s got some underwear model running
after him, and Ellen thought she was just a normal-looking human being. So, I really
didn’t have the heart to hate her. Although, there was a point where I wished,
she would just have to think soooo hard before making any decisions or rush to
any conclusions.
Here’s
Jag with his heart broken, trying his best to woo Ellen with the help of his
friends: Russ, Amanda and Baxter. But a truck-full of Irises wouldn’t just buy
you a forgiveness, a lot of semi-stalking, and groveling would PROBABLY do the
trick. He tries to juggle it all – wooing the girl of his dreams, and his
career.
And
just when everything gets to be perfect again, a deranged underwear model came
into the scene once again just to ruin it all. Gaaahd, I wished Jag would have
put this girl in her proper place. I’d smack her, maybe shove some senses up to
her a**. Being a gentleman sure didn’t help him – because he was losing Ellen
all over again – will this be for real, this time?
Once
again, I certainly can’t find my breathe as I await for the last installment in
this trilogy! But I certainly hope Ellen and Jag will both get their HEA. There
is no better lover, boyfriend or husband than your best friend. They have been
through hell and back, they have been together for ages, so I’m crossing my
fingers, pinning for this two as I patiently wait for the next book.
