This is one series I’m not going to miss.
At first, I was not really sure about reading this one, I wasn’t fond of the cover – I know! I’m judging it before reading. I was in for a big surprise when I started reading it, and liking it, and for a debut author, S.C. Ellington sure knows how to stir up emotions and build anticipation for the next book in the series.
Brooklyn Caldwell has a lot on her plate, and on her back. Never really gotten over a terrible breakup and an unthinkable aftermath, disillusioned engulfed her with regards to the opposite sex. Damon was everything to her, thinking he was the one until he burst her bubble.
To forget the pain, she sets off to Washington and room in with her friend Alex. Everything was just a normal busy day for her, work and her arrogant boss takes up most of her time, which was a welcome reprieve to get her minds off things. Until Logan Colton, a young CEO came into her life.
Logan was easily likable, he was down to earth, handsome and a real charmer. What I wished is for Logan to have his own POV in this story. I would love to hear his thoughts most of the time, especially with those times he prefers to keep secrets to himself. I want to know his past, all about his family, and of course, his current predicament (if he knows about it). He has a lot of baggage as well, and a huge guilt that had been eating him since then.
Can two broken people, heaved with baggage survive together?
I enjoyed reading the story, loved the two characters, even Alex got into me. I loved how the story went, the pacing was just perfect, it did not drag, it was not that fast-paced. When the ending finally came, it made me certainly look forward for the next book in the series. I hope by that time, Logan gets to have his own POV as well! :)
