My Review -
THAT WAS REALLY LONG!
So far, this is one of my longest read, and I was wondering if these two would ever end up. Reading the first chapter – trust me if I say I have doubted if these two were meant to be. Because Stefen Hunter?
He is that.
He might be rich, charming, sexy, and intelligent – but it will never make up for him being an arrogant prick. He was warned not to play with Leah, she was different, and she was a part of Caleb and Abby’s life – they didn’t want things to be awkward once he started to play with her emotions and left her heart broken hearted. But he was drawn to her for a reason he couldn’t really explain. When every girl wants to be with him – she was fighting her attraction.
Leah may be shy – but she can be spirited as well. She’s intelligent and hardworking, with a very generous heart. Her family and friends have always come first since then, now it was time for her to think about her future. But what happens when the man she wanted the most was the person she was warned against? They were so sure Stefen was going to break her heart, but she saw something in Stefen no one had ever witnessed – she saw through him.
I initially hated Stefen – he was really an egotistical jerk who always gets what he wants. He was warned, and I wished he headed the warning. He already knew that Leah was a great girl and not one of his play things. But did he listen? NOOOOOOO!!!! I hate to see Leah with her heart broken.
This girl, on the other hand, has a heart of gold. She was really forgiving (to a fault, I may add). I mean, if Stefan would do that to me, I’d ban him from my life FOREVER. This girl, however, had helped him when he needed it the most, forgave him and became his friend. OMG! Is she for real?
And I was in for the big surprise when Stefan starts to change. It wasn’t just magic – poof – he became good. BUT it was gradual, which made it more believable. He can’t just change ASAP, right? So there he was, from someTHING I hate, turning into someone believable. THANK GOODNESS.
First, however, he has to prove to this girl that he can be trustworthy, enough to trust him again with his heart – and that might be a little hard work.
It might be a little long for my liking, but nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it, watching the changes in the character, how they become friends, and falling in love all over again. It takes a whole lot of courage for someone to realize and to accept his faults, regret and make up about it. I was glad it wasn’t too late for Stefen to change his ways.

Kimi grew up in the San Gabriel Valley (mostly Alhambra) and still lives in Southern California. She’s been married to her high-school sweetheart and prom date for 21 years and they have two hilarious boys.
When she’s not reading or writing, Kimi spends her time in the kitchen trying to come up with vegan meals that don’t taste like cardboard. Her family might disagree with this however.
Although she doesn’t loyally follow or have favorite teams/athletes, Kimi loves a good hockey game or motorcross/x-treme sports event.
Volunteering is extremely important to her and she and her family work with several local non-profit organizations. A portion of her sales will always go to charity.
She’s planning on publishing the last two books in this series by the end of the year. Book 3, Grafted Vines, is Dani & Zachary’s story and book 4, Tangled Paths, is Bri & Josh’s journey. And because every character has a story to tell, there’s a possibility of a novella about Stefen and Bri’s mother’s life. There’s a reason she acts the way she does and she may bug Kimi enough to have it written out.
