my review -
OMG. I can’t believe I am finally done with the novel. IT WAS LONG. Really longer than I anticipated, but Knox and Charlie were so worth it.
I don’t get him. I’ve ‘known’ the guy for less than twenty-four hours and he’s already shot me down, blown me off, flirted with me, had to hide his hard dick, and then called me a slut in that period of time. I mean, who does that?
These two were meant to be. Sparks and tension were flying in their first meeting, which was intensified when Charlie was the volunteer sent to help him with his rehabilitation. They try to stop whatever was brewing between them, both coming from bad relationships, they had their issues. But as the days goes, the chemistry grows, there was no way of denying the attraction.
WHY I LOVE THESE TWO CHARACTERS –
Like I said, I don’t do roller coasters, and while I think this guy could be the best ride of my life, I know I’ll end up feeling sick to my stomach with regret afterwards.
Charlie is a great girl. She’s a toughie, she doesn’t whine, she knows how to take care of herself, she knows what she wants and she’s a forgiving soul. Knox had done so many things that was just so stupid –and she still ends up forgiving him and giving him a lot of chances. I love her close relationship with her father, her ability to tell him about (almost) everything.
He’s sweet, he’s an ass, he’s warm, he’s cold. He flirts, he scowls, he drives me absolutely crazy, but dammit if my heart doesn’t melt when he smiles.
Knox – I understand where the bitterness is coming from. Heck, I’d be keeping a grudge if it happens to me (but not THAT long I guess). He has some trust issues that dates a long way back, but nevertheless, when he stops being an a**, he’s a great guy. He’s hot, and then cold. He can be very caring on her, then suddenly he’s all temperamental. He can go Alpha over Charlie, then really sweet the next. But, he’s perfect for her, they complement each other’s personality.
They had misunderstandings, some fights, some trust issues and a whole lot of lovin’. This couple easily became one of my favorites.
Just when I thought everything was perfect between these two because of a sudden realization, a surprising twist came. I want to scream, stomp my foot – I was ready for my HEA, this has gone long enough for me. I just want this two people to be happy!!! Nevertheless, this twist gave my heart a little ache and brought some tears to my eyes, awww. It had just made the whole thing more beautiful, and more meaningful for the couple.
To build a relationship, both of them should let go of the past. It has been holding them back for so long, and they needed a fresh start. They needed to trust each other, they needed to forgive, most especially Knox. I wonder HOW will he do it, or will he be doing it? So many family secrets, so many buried grudges, so many pent-up emotions. I couldn’t say much more without spilling some spoilers! Arghh.
Jace & Alexa
I miss these two! And I’m glad to have them back here, and see how their relationship is going. Despite being in love, and living in their own personal bubble, it didn’t stop them from becoming a friend to both Knox and Charlie when needed.
Just like the first book, I enjoyed reading the second installment of the series. Again, it might have been long, but reading it wasn’t a struggle. It was truly a walk in the beach – with all those great characters, amazing plot, not to mention the surprises in between the pages – all of it was worth my time. Tessa Teevan had me at Ignited, and continued to awe me in Incinerate. I can’t wait what she in store for her readers on her third installment (Lucy & Kale’s story).

the author -
I'm a twenty six year old book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and have been married to my own book boyfriend for over seven years. We currently live right outside of Dayton, OH with our two cats.
If I’m not writing or looking through tons of photos of hot men, all in the name of research, then you can probably find me curled up with my Kindle, ignoring the rest of the world. I love my sports almost as much as I love my books. My other obsessions include red wine, hot men, country music, and all things Grace Potter.
