New Adult Contemporary Romance
Maggie Carpenter is ready for a change— and to leave her ordinary life in South Carolina behind. But when she accepts a scholarship to the International School in London, a university attended by the privileged offspring of diplomats and world leaders, Maggie might get more than she bargained for.
When Maggie meets Hugh, a twentysomething British guy, she finds herself living the life she always wanted. Suddenly she’s riding around the city in a Ferrari, wearing borrowed designer clothes and going to the hottest clubs. The only problem? Another guy, the one she can’t seem to keep her hands off of.
Half French, half Lebanese, and ridiculously wealthy, Samir Khouri has made it clear he doesn’t do relationships. He’s the opposite of everything Maggie thought she wanted…and he’s everything she can’t resist. Torn between her dream guy and the boy haunting her dreams, Maggie has to fight for her own happy ending. In a city like London, you never know where you stand, and everything can change in the blink of an eye.
This is a New Adult romance recommended for readers 17 and up.

my review-
I
was in awe, I was hooked, I was mesmerized – I couldn’t get Samir out of my
mind!!!
He
was a sight to behold, I guess it’s understandable why Maggie had a
deer-caught-in-the-headlight sort of moment the first time their eyes met. He was
half-French, Half-Lebanese who was very rich, very sexy, a party boy, and
someone who can get away with an A without writing anything on his notes. One thing
though – he doesn’t do relationships. He’s the very opposite of everything
Maggie thought she wanted, but she can’t seem to resist him.
She
wanted to go to Harvard, badly. But sadly, Maggie got the rejection letter
without any backup plans. The next thing she knew, she was flying to London and
is desperate for a change. She leaves her mundane life in South Carolina, and
embrace the glam, lights and everything London has to offer. Along the way, she
meets new set of friends, fell in love, made out with an irresistible,
infuriating man, and gave up her V-card.
There’s
Hugh as well, he’s the 20-something British man whom Maggie met at the bar. All
of a sudden, everything she had ever dreamed of was coming true. She was no
longer the invisible girl, she was one of them – she was dressed in the most
expensive designer clothes (borrowed), riding the hottest car, going on great
vacations and getting inside some exclusive clubs. This guy? He was perfect. But
why can’t she shake off the feeling that there was something missing.
I
feel sad for Maggie every time she talks to her father, especially with the
last phone call, it totally broke my heart. All she wanted was for someone to
love her completely, and a place to belong. Her and Samir – they create myriad
of explosions every time they are together. But none would ever admit to what
they are feeling. I was crossing my fingers, hoping that Samir would act soon
before it’s too late and she makes some stupid decisions.
I
love their time together – it had me laughing, squirming, anticipating of what
will happen to them now! The sexual tension was off the charts – it was so
obvious both of them were fighting it SOOOO hard. Nevertheless, when they
finally got together – the whole waiting agony was so worth it.
I
loved it – the characters, the plot and most especially the setting!!! It didn’t
just happen in London. Her new rich friends managed to drag her in Venice and
Paris as well. I wished it had a dual POV, good thing the next book which had a
sneak peak by the end of the chapter and guess what? The second book has a dual
POV! Yay!!! I have to say it made my excitement grew, and I couldn’t wait to
get into his brains, and to know how things will turn out with him and Maggie
after their vacation time.
