Reunited in Love by Nadia Lee - Book Review

Newly jobless and adrift, former investment banker Kerri Wilson travels to Virginia to see her best friend and regroup, only to run into billionaire playboy Ethan Lloyd. It's been years since she's snuck out of his bed after the most amazing sex of her life, and he's so not her type -- she likes them tall, dark and manageable. But he's too hot to resist, and she succumbs to another sizzling, no-strings-attached (or so she thinks) night.

Unwilling to let her go this time, Ethan makes a simple proposition: a job, a place to stay, and an exclusive affair that will end when either of them finds someone else. But with her dark, painful past catching up to her, Kerri may have to bolt again -- even though her heart is telling her to stay. And Ethan's not giving her up without fighting to make their "temporary" arrangement something far more permanent...

This girl who was a top executive in Asia, just quit her job and suddenly decided to see her best friend. I was dying of curiosity of whom she was running away from. Is she in danger? Who is she hiding from? Yes, the question has been bugging me until I found some answers.

It should have been a temporary visit, at least a short stop-over, but her plans were laid out differently when she run into billionaire playboy Ethan Lloyd. WHAT A REUNION. It has been years since she snuck out of his bed after an amazing sexual experience, that had ruined her for all other men. He didn’t fell into her type of men – she opted her men to be tall, dark and most especially manageable. And he was FAR from manageable, but definitely as sexy as sin. He was difficult to resist with his great power in persuasion and his determination to make her stop running. Against her better judgment, she succumbs to another night of no-strings, mindless, and hot night of her life – or she’d like to think so.

But Ethan made a mistake of letting her go then, he wouldn’t do that now. He will do everything in his power to make her stay. Even if first, he would let her believe that all he wanted was a temporary arrangement. So, he offers her a job, a home, and most especially – himself. (HE’S GOT HIMSELF A DEAL!!!! ß This is me talking!)

I mean who can resist a rich, handsome, and kind man? He’s the total package! Not to mention, he’s completely smitten. One problem is though – she’s running away from her dark, painful past, and it’s catching up to her.  She may have to run away again, would Keri even listen to her heart even if it begs her to stay?

Kerri Wilson had me at awe – she was a superwoman! She’s intelligent, beautiful, sexy, and the way she handles business – mesmerizing! The scene was epic, and I was silently applauding her, cheering her, and was really proud of the way she handled those men. Of course our girl isn’t perfect, she’s with flaws I didn’t expect. Poor her. I was so curious who is this person or thing she is running away from, and I figured, he must be scary, or she must have owed him a lot – but once you get to meet this person at the end, it gave me the biggest surprise of my life. Now that one I didn’t see coming.

Kerri and Ethan are perfect for each other – both have brilliant minds, with big hearts. You can feel the chemistry between the two of them, the brewing sexual tension and not to mention the battle of wills. I was so glad Ethan was determined and persuasive. Kerri was the biggest deal he made in his entire life, and he will do everything to get that deal. His heart depended on it.

How can you make something temporary permanent? How can you make a person who wanted to go stay? The first thing that had me drawn to this novel was the reunion plot – second chances are hard to find, and for them to meet after years of being apart after that single night is fate. Then, the characters – they were strong, stubborn and powerful people who has their own problems. Money can’t buy it all – even families who have everything at their disposal have skeletons in their closets. But LOVE – it conquers all, the darkness of the past, the uncertainty of the future, and even the temporary state of the present.
