Jude Sinclair here, hockey player for the Bellevue Bullies and lover of all ladies. Hockey’s in my blood, and not to sound full of myself, but I’m good at it…really good. The draft is within my reach—it’s mine to take—but that’s not the only reason people know my name. They know me because of my way with women. They know the score, and I aim to please. I just tend to stay away from repeat performances. In other words, I don’t do relationships beyond my family and friends. I’m happy with life. However, I should warn you that my story and how I see it playing out is about to change due to a certain redhead on campus.
She’s beautiful. Stunning. Breathtaking.
She’s my game changer.
He’s trouble from the moment I see him. I don’t know what I’m thinking, but from the moment I meet his gaze, I’m his. It’s a scary feeling.

I’ve never trusted anyone outside my aunt and uncle—and even that took months. I didn’t have it easy growing up. My mom was usually strung out, and she didn’t give me a second thought. Drugs and the men who paid her were more important to her. It was horrible, but I’m stronger today. Because of my past, security is what I need most. Money assures me that I can take care of myself today, tomorrow, and next month. I don’t want to ever be hungry or go without again, so I work hard for every penny.
Oh, by the way, I’m Claire Anderson. I’m a hard-studying sophomore at the University of Bellevue, dancer for the school dance team, and a burlesque dancer at a club, but that’s my secret.
You may think you know how our story ends, but you have no clue. It’s not easy falling in love… or living happily ever after. At first it may seem so, but when is anything worth having ever won without a fight?
Especially when you’re boarded by love.

My Review

One of my favorite works by Toni Aleo, would always be the Assassins Series. I love those hot hockey players, and their ummm… sticks. I was glad Toni made another series, this time - younger, cockier hockey players are going to steal your hearts.

Meet Jude Sinclair
He’s one of the best hockey players for the Bellevue Bullies. Rumor has it that he’s going to be one of the first to be drafted for the NHL. He’s a ladies’ man and doesn’t do relationships. He doesn’t do a repeat (usually). The only relationship he has is with his friends and family. He’s a great son to his mother and an awesome brother to his siblings. He was contented with his life – until Claire came along.

Claire Anderson
She needed control. She needed money. She wanted a great future. Despite the fact that her uncle is Philip Anderson, and one of the best players in the NHL – she opted to work her a** off, not just in Reese’s dance studio, but she’s living a secret life being a choreographer and dance in a burlesque club. Only the people who work there and Reese know about it. She would work there until she had enough to start on her own once school is done. She had it all planned out, what she didn’t include in her plans is JUDE SINCLAIR.

The Game Changer & Trouble
She was his game-changer. She makes him want to try monogamy – which is by the way he didn’t really consider all this life. But seeing her, being with her, makes him want to do things he never thought he was capable of. He was trouble. She knew the first moment their eyes met – she belonged to him. And it terrified her. She didn’t give out trust completely. She had been through a dark childhood and it took a while before her uncle and aunt had earned her trust.

They were great together – the chemistry, the tension, the attraction – it was off the charts. When they decided to take it slow, I can feel their frustration – but I was glad they took a step back and get to know each other at first. They decided not to rush things. People around them were surprised, some were wary. Claire had been warned enough, and I was glad she followed her heart. Because when he asked her to be his girl officially, I swooned. For someone who didn’t have a girlfriend, he was good at this relationship thing.

But her secret was hanging between them. She wanted to tell him, but was afraid of his reaction. What happens when he found out? Will he be forgiving? Or will he let her go?

It was a painful night for Jude, and I couldn’t blame him for getting angry and confused. For his trust to be broken by someone he offered his heart to was pretty much painful. For the first time, I saw a girl grovel and worked her way on being forgiven. It wasn’t pretty, I don’t think I can do it, but she knew it was her fault and was brave enough to apologize for it, even if it means swallowing her pride.

You’d love not just Jude and Claire – but I fell in love with Phillip all over again. OMG. He was such a baby. I love how much he loves Claire, and how much he wanted to protect her. Both he and Reese never fail to secure her, to make her feel loved and make her feel she belonged. But despite Jude breaking my heart, he did one heck of a groveling too, not to mention worked his way in winning Phillip’s approval.

Boarded by Love had me laughing, crying and falling. Toni Aleo did it again – she nailed it. She will broke your heart first, before giving an unforgettable ending. Because this one – you wouldn’t sleep until you get to see the ending.
