It started with an intense amount of fury, the kind that
will grip you, the kind that will strangle you, the kind that seeks
retribution.
Ethan Moonsong is heartbroken, and angry. Angry at
Spencer Blackwell whom he thinks stole Cricket from him, angry at the world,
angry at anything at all. Being angry is a tiring emotion. It consumes your
soul.
Good thing he crossed paths with his former high school
classmate, Finley, who shed some light into his world. If he was an angry
person, Finley was the exact opposite. I like her sunny disposition. She was
exactly what he needed at that moment. He needed a friend, and she was there. There
was no expectations, no commitments. They had formed a bond in a few weeks that
they have been together. And slowly, Ethan began to change. It was a slow
change, but enough for his father to take notice. If he was out and drinking
till he was out cold, this time he was spending more and more time with Finley.
After all, she was about to go to Vietnam for some charity work.
He knew she would go but it didn’t stop the nagging
feeling that was disturbing him. So regardless of the fact that Finley didn’t
want him to go after her, he did go after her. What he didn’t realize is his
life would never be the same again, and it’s not just because of Finley.
I need to breathe several times in this novel, breathe in
deep, and engulf that air right into your lungs because we are in for a wild
ride. This isn’t just a love story, a romance that has been meaning to happen
right at this moment. A love story that waited, and waited for the perfect
timing, until it came along and somehow, things still happen. It kept me
wondering: will they be able to get their happy ending?
The chase is on. Adrenaline is cursing into my veins. A
lot of WTF moments right there, what-in-the-world-are-you-doing questions and are-you-seriously-doing-that.
I didn’t question his intentions because they were great, but the way he
managed the situation. He needed to earn Finley, but Finley already told him
she was his even since then.
Fisher Amelie is brave enough to go through with this
plot, and she threaded it with great care. Things like this happened
everywhere, but unlike in the story there were no superheroes that can save
lives. Painful realities are slapped in the face, some are brave enough to face
it, some would pretend not to notice, which kind of person are you?
GREED
Fisher Amelie resides in the South with her kick ace husband slash soul mate. She earned her first ‘mama’ patch in 2009. She also lives with her Weim, Jonah, and her Beta, Whale. All these living creatures keep the belly of her life full, sometimes to the point of gluttony, but she doesn’t mind all that much because life isn’t worth living if it isn’t entertaining, right? Fisher is the author of The Seven Deadly Series, The Sleepless Series, and The Leaving Series, and was a semi-finalist in Amazon’s Breakthrough Novel Award.
