After breaking up with her long time boyfriend, Jackson DeLacey, eighteen-year-old Zara Borzilleri promises herself to focus on school and play the game she loves. Stepping foot onto the lacrosse field, in front of a cheering crowd, pushes aside the pain and reminds her of the future ahead at least until she graduates in four years.

Lacrosse star Treston 'The King' Parker dominates the field and to everyone else he has it all. Behind closed doors he's just Treston Parker- a monster full of secrets, deep, dark secrets only he knows. He won't allow anyone to get close and for the past two years he's kept his promises to her, but never his last promise: falling in love again.

One weekend he gives in and everything changes when he meets Zara. The rules change and she sees Treston for who he truly is, not what everyone else sees. But to Treston, meeting Zara means nothing, even though her blue eyes invades his mind.

We can be friends, but don't ask about my past or where I go.

He draws the lines.
She erases his lines.

Can Zara help Treston escape his painful past before he sinks deeper into oblivion?

Treston “The King” Parker has his own rules. If you can’t follow it – then you are welcome out the door. It’s totally heartless and makes him an a**. But before THAT, he was a loving and loyal boyfriend. Loss and grief had hardened him and made him place walls around his heart.

Zara Borzilleri didn’t want to hurt her long-time boyfriend. But the spark was no longer there, she needed to be honest with him and tell him that it was useless for them to be together. After the breakup, she decided to focus on school and play the sport she loves. What was not part of her plan was meeting Treston. He was an enigma – he turns hot and then cold. He would get close to her, and suddenly he would ignore her.

Completely frustrating right? It was their dance, and she has the right to get tired, and frustrated, and to leave him. If he can’t let her in – no matter how hot he is, and how good he may be in bed: he’s not worth it! But Zara was stubborn. She saw his other side: the softer, lovable and sweet Treston, and she was determined to get through his walls. But how determined she is exactly? Up to what extent can she put her heart on the line and have it broke bit by bit?

Her determination was commendable, but there was a time when she tries another tactic that had me wanting to strangle her. Indeed, our girl here can be a little stubborn. Nevertheless, it was through her tireless effort and love that had those walls crumbling. It took a while, and a whole lot of heartbreak.

Finding true love once is amazing, but finding it twice is a gift. Grief is a powerful thing, most especially if it’s propelled by a loss of someone close to your heart. But S. Moose proved that second chances on love can be sweeter and greater if you break the walls that surround your heart. It would be hard at first, but with the right person, destroying the walls would be tedious and a whole lot of work, but the end would be totally worth all the effort.

I've given away my heart once and only once. Now, I live my life the way I do. I don't have time to talk about my feelings and get emotional. That shit is for the birds. When you take out emotions you'll feel a lot better, trust me. Emotions mean feeling and feeling means opening yourself up to get hurt and when you’re hurt, all you can think about is why and what you could have done differently. You blame yourself and think of ways to get her back. When you can’t think of anything, you’re backed up into a corner and feel alone. No one can help you because the only person who can will never be able to. That hurt leaves you feeling broken and you go through hell trying to pick yourself back up. You stop your life, the only life you know, and live in the dark. You're vulnerable to words and actions. People around you walk on eggshells, scared to make you cry or piss you off. So I've taken away my feelings and will never hurt the way I did before. See my point?
