Maggie tries not to let her reputation dampen her spirit.
Instead, she lived in it. She valued the freedom and living life that came
across in being the Half-Irish Harlot. After all, she couldn’t do anything
about it. But having Simon near her again, the man who joined the ton in not
believing her innocence, proved to be a danger in her heart. She will never
fall for him again, she won’t risk her heart.
But Simon was a formidable force. She broke his heart
years ago and left him feeling like a fool. He wouldn’t let her do it to him
again, but question is can he resist being close to her once again?
Can they be both wrong about what happened years ago?
Their love story is ten painful years in the making, and I
was glad they got their happy ending, not matter how farfetched it was
initially. Indeed, love can do everything, even move mountains and surpass
whatever painful past there is.
Another
captivating romantic novel from Joanna Shupe. The Harlot Countess proved to be
as engaging as the first one in the series, the anticipation of solving the
mystery was up until the final page, and not to mention the sizzling romance
between the characters did not allow me to put this book down.
