Lucy Merryweather is set on an adventure, something she found after inheriting a whole lot of fortune from a great-aunt and a list of unfulfilled wishes and regrets. She decided that one way to honor her memory to accomplish as many of them as possible. Since she was living with a guardian in London with her family an ocean away, her dear friend and supposedly-fiance Jackson had let her go to set off to an adventure with his family, it was the perfect time to start her adventure. She just have to ignore the private investigator that was lurking around.

Cameron Effington wanted to be a writer – but first, he had to prove to his father that his work was his passion and not just some passing fancy. All he need was to find an inspiration, and then there was Lucy Merryweather and her list. Problem is, she thought he was a detective and he didn’t have the heart to correct her.  One adventure after the other, Cam was getting closer to Lucy. But what if Lucy finds out about his deception?

Ah indeed, it would have be a great problem once Lucy will discover his deceit. He didn’t mean to, but there were a lot of times he could have just told her the truth. It would save him a lot of trouble. Trust is always important in a relationship, and honesty is one of the foundations of trust. Well, he needed to grovel, and not to mention he needed to have that grand gesture for her to forgive him for everything. And grand gesture he did, it was entertaining, and unexpected and a great surprise, not just for Lucy, but I bet for the rest of the readers as well.

I was thoroughly entertained, and thrilled with The Daring Exploits of a Runaway Heiress. Indeed, her exploits were quite daring and exciting set in those times. We can see that Lucy had finally got out of her shell, and proved that she can do just about anything when she puts her mind into it. This book is filled with so much adventure, fun and romance.

New York Times bestselling author Victoria Alexander was an award-winning television reporter until she discovered fiction was much more fun than real life. She turned to writing full time and has never looked back. Victoria grew up traveling the country as an Air Force brat and is now settled in a very old house in Omaha, Nebraska, with her husband, two allegedly grown children and two bearded collies. She firmly believes housework is a four-letter word, there are no calories in anything eaten standing up, procrastination is an art form, and it's never too soon to panic.
