Book Review | After We Fall by Marquita Valentine (@marquitaval)

After winning raves for Take the Fall (“crackling with tension, intrigue, and romance”—Katy Evans) and When We Fall (“sexy, emotional, heartfelt”—Monica Murphy), Marquita Valentine ratchets up the tension as new beginnings lead to undeniable passion.

A tough cop with an even tougher past, Hunter Sloan has never let anyone stop him from getting what he wants—and he wants Evangeline Ambrose bad. With her gentle curves and raw vulnerability, Hunter’s beautiful, mysterious new neighbor awakens his protective side. Determined to do right by a woman who’s gone through hell and back, Hunter could be the one to take away the pain—so long as his own secrets don’t sink their relationship before it begins.

Having escaped an abusive marriage, Evangeline simply wants to start over in the small, quiet town of Forrestville. She’s also avoiding all contact with the opposite sex, because she just can’t trust her instincts when it comes to men—not even with the sinfully sexy cop next door. So why can’t she stop thinking about him? Hunter has darkness in his soul, and yet no one ever made her feel so safe. For all her best laid plans, Evangeline didn’t count on choices this hard—or temptation this hot.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as an excerpt from another Loveswept title.

Book Review | Lust is the Thorn by Jen McLaughlin (@DianeAlberts)

From the bestselling author of Bad Romance comes an edgy novel about a reformed bad boy training to be a priest and the fallen angel who makes him think twice about giving up earthly pleasures.

Growing up hard and fast on the mean streets of Chicago, Thorn McKinney didn’t have a prayer—until tragedy inspired him to join the seminary. Now the time has come to take his vows, and yet he’s haunted by the woman he can’t leave behind: his best friend’s little sister. Despite Thorn’s promises that he’d keep her safe, she’s going through hell. And now he finds himself torn between duty and desire, entranced by the seductive pull of her trusting eyes, innocent heart, and sinfully sweet curves.

Trying to let Thorn pursue his calling, Rose Gallagher has been hiding some things: namely her abusive boyfriend and her job as a stripper. But when she hits rock bottom, Thorn is there for her—and now there’s no denying the raw temptation that draws them together in their darkest moments. Rose may have found salvation in his strong arms, but she knows that Thorn must choose his own path: in the church, or in the warm embrace of a woman’s love.

Book Review | DIRTY by Kylie Scott (@KylieScottbooks)

The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that comes with her.

Lydia Green doesn't know whether to burn down the church or sit and cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it's with his best man is another thing all together. She narrowly escapes tying the knot and meets Vaughan only hours later.

Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessman she thought she'd marry. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and unsettled. But she already tried Mr. Right and discovered he's all wrong-maybe it's time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.

After all, what's wrong with getting dirty?

Unbeknownst to Luke, Roberta is all too familiar with the violent tendencies of the pitcher who hit him.

Now that they’re living under the same roof, the last thing either of them is looking for is a relationship. But it’s not long before they find themselves drawn to each other. And right when Luke is thinking about finally making a change to his single status, a secret from Roberta’s past emerges with the power to tear them apart.

New York King's Series: http://amzn.to/1NmtKxB

I didn’t realize I can like Roberta, not until I read SINGLE.

It was like seeing another side of her, a side that you’d be surprised, you’d love and you’d finally understand. This was one of the things you should look forward in Collete West’s new New York King’s Novel. She might not have a stellar past, and yes, she hooked up with some of the Kings – but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There is more to her than that part of her past. I can finally understand why she doesn’t easily open herself up to others. Her compassionate and caring side that would make you love her in no time. I can’t believe I’m saying this right now, but I was glad she had her happy-every-after, and I was glad it was Luke.

And Luke- how can you not love him? He’s pretty much amazing, and he’d do everything for his mom and for other people. I love how he tried to take care of his mom, how he worked his a** off to make sure his mom can have the best possible care. I love the way ‘handled’ Rebecca – he didn’t pressure her, he allowed her to take her time for her to open up to him. He’s easily lovable – he was thoughtful, understanding and caring. Who needs an alpha-male when you have someone like this guy? He’s way different from the usual lead, and he was a breather.

It’s great to see a new group of men with different characters. This was a great book to start off Collete West’s new Series: Stockton Beavers. I enjoyed reading this book, and I’ll have to say that I am excited to read about each one of them.

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Collette West grew up as somewhat of a jock-nerd hybrid. Entering the world three weeks premature, her dad nearly missed her birth because he had seats behind the dugout for a sold-out, highly-anticipated match-up between two of baseball's biggest rivals. Not to be outdone, her book-loving mom taught her how to read by the time she was three. A love of the game coupled with an appreciation for the written word were instilled in Collette's impressionable brain from a young age. No wonder her characters believe in the philosophy: sports + romance = a little slice of heaven.

Splitting her time between the Pocono Mountains and Manhattan, Collette indulges her inner fangirl by going to as many games as she can from hockey to baseball and downloading every sports romance novel in existence onto her iPad. When she's not clicking away on her laptop, she enjoys walking her dog in Central Park, satisfying her caffeine craving at the Starbucks on Broadway and keeping an eye out for Mr. Right. But above all, she loves dishing with her readers.

Book Review | The Slam by Haleigh Lovell (@haleighlovell8)

From the New York Times and USA Today Bestselling author, Haleigh Lovell, comes a sexy new standalone novel.

His best strokes can be found off the court.

Ender Hemsworth has been called many things:
A Cock on Legs.
Captain of Sigma Chi.
Big man on campus.
Star athlete at UC Berkeley.
And he's always scowling like someone just took a piss in his Cheerios.

Adelaide Vikander has been called one thing:
Twenty Types of Trouble.
And she likes to take the proverbial ‘piss’ in Ender’s Cheerios.

When they’re forced to live together off campus, sparks fly and panties drop.
Will Ender, the cold and unfeeling ‘Cock on Legs’ grow a torso, a head, and a warm, beating heart?

THE SLAM is a sexy and flirty New Adult Sports Romance that will make you laugh, make you wet, and warm your heart.

Adelaide wasn’t your usual heroine. Oh, she can be a mouthful at times, but it was more of amusing rather than annoying. Considering the facts that she spouts out of nowhere, and the innocence she has, and her perception of things can be pretty much refreshing.

Ender was easily likable as well. Not just because he’s hot and he can play tennis really well, but the way he treats Adelaide is simply endearing. He doesn’t treat her like there’s something wrong with her. He likes her for her.

The characters are complex, and not just the usual people you meet on a daily basis. I enjoyed the story – it was fun, sweet, amusing, steamy and romantic. No dull moments in between and it’s easy on the heart. This is something anyone who loves a good, light romance novel would enjoy.
