When all is lost, how do you remember love?
When her beloved foster parents pass away, Holly discovers a past both shocking and heartbreaking: the murder/suicide of her biological parents on the South Pacific island of Pitcairn, famous for the HMAV Bounty mutineers. Travelling to a home she does not remember, Holly reconnects with long-lost childhood friend Jack. An old friendship quickly becomes more…until a dark secret is uncovered.
Will joyous love remembered become heartbreak? Can she find out the truth before someone else is hurt?
Jack took her hand and squeezed it, smile twitching on his lips.
“We’ll have an early lunch and then head down Tedside to the rock pools.” He paused and turned her to him, suddenly serious, brown eyes searching hers. “But first there’s something I’ve wanted to do since I left last night.”
He pulled her to him, slipping his hands behind the small of her back as she looked up into his face, locking in on the intense look in his deep brown eyes. Her heart skipped a beat and started racing out of control as she realized hazily that he was going to kiss her.
Her mind dully tried to override the clamor that her heart was making, asking annoyingly how could she been feeling this way after only one day. The sudden desire and attraction she felt for this stranger was madness. She could stop this now, pull away and control the moment, but the roaring of her heart drowned out the nagging voice in her head. This felt right, somehow this was meant to be, no matter how crazy it seemed.
