Forgiven by Rebecca Brooke - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

What happens when one moment changes the course of your entire life? Do you sit back and accept it, or fight to live the life you choose? Caleb Jacobs has a past that has haunted him for two years. Knowing he can never forgive himself for the events that led to his departure, Caleb chooses to live a quiet life—concentrating on school, sports, and shots. But when he is paired with Angie for a history project he realizes that no matter how much you try to hide from your past, one way or another it will find you.

Angelina Powers knows what she wants from life. Growing up with only an alcoholic father for company, Angie learned early on in life that you can only count on yourself. But that doesn’t stop her wishing for her white knight. She’s confident, happy and focused…until she meets Caleb. So how will she feel when her potential white knight turns out to be more of a black shadow?

Readers are offered with a glimpse of Caleb Jacob's past - it was brief, but it had my curiosity running amok. I wanted to know what happened, who happened, and what went wrong with this guy?

He's the hottest guy in school, plays great, but rumored to be an ass. Only that he was not, he just likes to maintain his solitude and keep things to himself rather than having friends and sharing his past which he wasn't proud of. He likes to do things alone, so when he was paired with Angie on a history project - things got out of hand.

Angelina powers also has a past. She learned to become responsible with herself growing up with an alcoholic father. Although her house may be minutes away from school, she opted to stay in an apartment rather than risking staying in their house. What I love about this girl is even though she grew up in an abusive environment, she's still happy, confident and very much focused with her goal. That's why she insisted with Caleb, she didn't want to lose her scholarship even if it means working with someone who doesn't like working with her.

I thought that their past were somehow connected, I was waiting for the right moment for it to blow into their faces, but well, Rebecca Brooke has more interesting thoughts in mind. Didn't see the twists coming there, this book was full of surprising turns. I fell in love not only with Angelina's steadfastness but as well as with the rest of the characters - her best friend Emily - SHE WAS TRULY THE BEST, and if I were a boy, I'd be scared of her as well. She reminded me of a guard dog. But she loved Angie, wanted to protect her and the best for her. Josh was pretty cool as well, besides the fact that he could drink himself to oblivion and can shag anyone who wears skirt - but despite this manwhoring of his, he stood by Caleb and Angie. He was the one who helped them see through things. Caleb, on the other hand, had my stomach twisted. OMG, I couldn't decide if I love him or hate him for the roller coaster ride he gave Angie. One moment, he was lovey-dovey on her and the next he was leaving her - it was like WTF. But in the end, he made Angie happy, so I guess, it was all worth it.

I love the cover, the plot, the characters and I truly love the author for all those scenes I didn't see coming. I can't believe this is her first book!!! I can't wait to read what is next in the series!
