Destined For Love by Melissa Foster - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

Destined for Love
The Bradens Series Book Two
By: Melissa Foster

Rex Braden is wealthy, hard working, and fiercely loyal. Sweat at his brow, he works the family ranch by day, then kicks back at night with part time lovers who require nothing more than his physical presence a few times each week. But that was before. Before Jade Johnson, the daughter of the man his father has been feuding with for over forty years, moves back into town.

After ditching a horrific relationship—and her veterinary practice in the process—Jade Johnson returns to the safety of her small hometown and finally finds her footing. That is...until her horse is injured and Rex Braden comes to her rescue. The last thing she needs is a bull-headed, too-handsome-for-his-own-good Braden complicating her life.

Despite the angry family history, sparks fly between Rex and Jade, and attitudes follow. Fifteen years of stifled, forbidden love stirs a surge of passion too strong for either to deny—and the rebel in each of them rears its powerful head. Loyalties are tested, and relationships are strained. Rex and Jade are about to find out if true love really can conquer all.

MY REVIEW -
I have already met Rex when I read Treat’s story. Even then, his rough exterior didn’t put me off. Despite being hard on the outside, this man is a sweet, sensitive creature who’s wealth didn’t just come from his family but from hard work. Unlike Treat who built his empire, Rex opted to stay at the ranch and worked day and night helping his father. He was not the one to flaunt his affairs, he was afraid to cause his father distress. But there was only one girl who had caught his interest since then, one girl he couldn’t have. And now, she’s back in town – more beautiful and more irresistible than ever, the daughter of his father’s arch nemesis, Jade Johnson.

After running away from a disastrous relationship and trying to put into practice her degree in veterinary medicine, Jade Johnson comes back to the safety and security of her small hometown. Her world was as mundane as it could be until an incident made her cross-paths with Rex Branden.

Not-so-good family history would have stopped them both to be together. They did try to stay away from each other – saving their family not just from humiliation, but from heartaches. The excitement of a forbidden love-affair, not to mention fifteen LONG years of hidden attraction makes the passion stronger than ever – will one of them be strong enough to fight it? Or will both of them succumb to it? Loyalties and relationships will be tested. Will their love be enough to stop the long-standing feud between the family?

I loveeeeed Rex and I just knew there was something between him and Jade even from the first book. The sparks were already there, ready to explode once one of them will be brave enough to ignite it. I was wondering who will make the first move, how will their relationship come about, and how will it affect both families… what I didn’t expect is a story about the legend that might prove Rex and Jade are two souls who are meant to be together. The legend was something different and new to my ears. It adds a nice touch to the story.

Unlike their fathers, Rex’s siblings were unexpectedly accepting of their relationship. They already liked Jade but already warned Rex about the consequences of their action. The both of them might acted like horny teenagers at some point – but both of them have good heads on their shoulder to consider their families before themselves. But when the time came that both of them needed to chose, they already know what their choices are.

It’s always hard to choose between the ones you love – but in the end, no matter what you choose, family will always be family. No pride, no feud, and no forbidden romance can drive it apart.

Destined for Love is a modern-day tale of Romeo and Juliet, only that the ending was way different. It’s about love, friendship, family and loyalty. I have fallen in love with this series the first time I read Lovers at Heart and will surely to read every single one of them.
