Sometimes the biggest risk is playing it safe…

Gen Richards is tired of living down to her family’s expectation of the helpless blind girl. Resurrecting her high-school bucket list that begins with “kiss a total stranger” seems just the thing until she finds herself in a panty-melting lip lock with her big brother’s best friend.

Chance Anderson thrives on adrenaline, but Genny’s the one risk he’s not willing to take. His recklessness a decade ago landed her in the hospital and ejected him from her life. He’s bad for her and everyone knows it—especially her big brother.

Chance reluctantly helps Gen complete her bucket list in order to keep her out of trouble. Running through a freezing fountain, playing Spin the Bottle while fending off a mad horde of stinging insects, and skinny dipping with homicidal attack swans don’t hold a candle to the real danger: falling for the one person he can never have.

Gen was tired of playing it safe and living down to the expectations of her family who was overprotecting her because they thought she was a helpless blind girl. She was about to take some serious risk starting off by completing the task on her bucket list. It begins with “kissing a total stranger”, but she ends up kissing someone she knew! Her brother’s best friend!

Chance Anderson is an adrenaline junkie, but one thing he wouldn’t pursue and take a risk was Genny. He made some promise and recklessness some years ago had her life endangered and he was somehow permanently banned into her life. He wasn’t good enough for her, he knows it and most especially her brother knows it.

But when she presented her with her bucket list, he had a little choice but to help her complete it to keep her safe and way out of trouble. It may have started with that panty-melting kiss, but there was more to it: running through a freezing fountain, playing Spin the Bottle while fending off a mad horde of stinging insects, and skinny dipping with homicidal attack swans. They were really good together, and that kiss on the bar? Sparks were already flying then. It was so much fun watching them together, and watching them fall in love.

But would they able to let go of the past and take a risk for their future?

It was sweet, fun and light read. Marissa Clarke had made one heck of a novel, it’s something different and sends a powerful message. I love the sensitivity she put through it, she didn’t overdo anything, and made everything completely believable. This proved that anyone can do just about anything, and being visually-challenged, like Gen is not a hindrance to do anything if he or she would put her mind in it.
