Book Review | Friction by Sawyer Bennett (@bennettbooks)

At the powerhouse law firm of Knight & Payne, winning comes first and ethics a distant second. Leary Michaels uses her female charms to daze opponents, and it’s always worked well—until now. On her most personal case yet, she finds herself going up against a defense attorney just as skilled, shameless, and seductive as she is.

Reeve Holloway has never met a woman as sure of her own sexuality, or as ruthless in wielding it, as Leary is. But he won’t be toyed with. What Leary starts, he’ll finish—in the courtroom, the bedroom, or any-damn-place he wants. The sex is uninhibited, electrifying, and absolutely against the rules. Reeve’s job is to ruin Leary’s case…even if it destroys her in the process and costs him the woman he’s come to love.

There are some people you risk everything for.

Leary Michaels is one of the best lawyers in Knight & Payne, she had worked her way through the top by winning her cases, and putting aside her ethics when needed. She uses both her intelligence and charm to win her cases and disarm her opponents. Everything worked out for her, until this case. This case hits close to home and she’s making this one personal. She finds herself against a defense attorney who like her, will do EVERYTHING to win.

Reeve Holloway is one sexy and cunning lawyer, and he might just found his match in Leary Michaels. She started this game, and he vows to finish it – in his bed, or anywhere he wanted. The chemistry between them went beyond electrifying – but the fact remains: both of them will do everything to win this case. Will their newfound relationship survive it?

I love them both, I love intelligent and witty characters that can ignite not just my kindle, but my brain cells as well. These two did just that. It started with a simple psychological (sexy) warfare, which ended up with them doing each other.

They did things that both of them are not proud of, it borders and even went beyond their code of ethics, but their drive to win the case, especially Leary’s was pretty much overwhelming. This woman will stop at anything to help the people whom she thinks needed her help the most. As for Reeve, I was glad he brought his head out of his a**, but nevertheless, he maintained his professionalism until the very end.

It has some heartbreaking moments in between, things that will make you cringe, and things that will make you swoon coming from both sides. And Ford – he was such a surprise. Wish he’d have his happy ending too!

It’s smart, sexy and oh so delicious. Loving it from the very first page when our female lead Leary Michaels is just a mere scared newbie, down to the last page when she was embracing her happy ending.

Sawyer Bennett never failed to amaze me from those hunky men in the ice down to these intelligent and witty lawyers, both oozing with steam and romance that can melt both your hearts and panties.

USA Today Best-Selling Author, Sawyer Bennett is a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. Sawyer would like to report she doesn’t have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.

Sawyer is the author of several contemporary romances including the popular Off Series, the Legal Affairs Series and the Last Call Series. She will be releasing her second book in the Cold Fury Hockey Series with Random House Loveswept, February 2015.
