Abby Sellers knows what she wants.

Enduring eighteen years in the shadow of her identical twin sister, Annika, she wants a fresh start. A chance to create her own life, separate from her conniving, deceptive twin.

Surprising both her family and friends, Abby ditches her plans for college and enrolls at a new school instead. There, she encounters West Montgomery, a sexy fellow student who immediately disarms her with his good looks and charm. West takes a liking to Abby and she suddenly finds herself walking a thin line, fabricating a fictional life created not by lies but by omission. She soon discovers West has secrets of his own, secrets that he's not altogether interested in sharing.

Out from under the shadow of her twin, Abby's life—and her relationship with West—blossoms. When Abby leaves town one weekend, something unthinkable happens and her relationship with West is shattered. Reeling from the discovery, Abby fears all of her plans have backfired and she's created a mess for both of them, a mess that no one can clean up.

But West isn't willing to let her go that easily. When he forces her to confront secrets they've both been hiding, Abby must decide more than if she's willing to forgive and forget. She must also decide just what kind of life she wants...and who she wants to live it with.

Twins are supposed to be close-knit. But Abby and Annika were never close since they were young. They were way different from each other. She tolerated her twin all her life, but it changed one night. After being in the shadow of her identical twin, she wanted to start anew. Instead of going to college as planned, she enrolled in a new school instead - surprising not just herself, but her parents as well.

Then West Montgomery came along. Oh he's cocky, but totally hot. He knew what he want, and he wanted Abby. He pursued her, and when he did, Abby could not find herself to say no. How can she, when this guy can make her feel that she's the only girl he wanted. YES, HE WANTED HER!

But both of them have secrets they keep, not really wanting to share all at once. Abby decided not to tell him about Annika, West mums about the real reason why he chose to go to the school they were in when he could have been in one of the premier schools in the country!

Everything was perfect, their relationship slowly progressed. Until Abby leaves town one weekend and Annika does what she does best and left Abby broken. Good thing West is determined to get into the bottom of what just happened - because he honestly don't know how something so nice in his life suddenly disappeared without any reasons. But it's up to Abby is she's willing to move on, forgive him and forget what happened.

Perfection is a scary thing, so does being utterly happy. I was wondering until when will it last. I was waiting for Annika to screw things up - and she did it with flying colors. Then, I have to ask, why is she doing it? Why does she ruin every single chance of happiness for Abby? They are more than sisters, they're twins! When Abby finally stood up for herself and confronted Annika for everything that she did - I was astounded because I never thought she had it in her. WOW. Perhaps, her twin sister needed a good wake up call from everything that she did to her. It was harsh, but desperately needed.

Nevertheless, it wasn't all Annika. Both of them withheld information from one another, they lied (yes by omission, but lying is still lying no matter how you call it). It would have helped if Abby was honest from the start or she could have told him what just happened rather than running away.

It was different from all the other twin-novels I came across with which makes it interesting. I kept on dreading on how Annika will screw up whatever Abby has. I liked the novel and managed to finish it in one sitting. It was sweet, WEST is totally hot (he surfs, plays ball and bakes! - who won't want him?!). It's great to have his POV on the sequel: It Was Me. But you know what I'm really looking forward? It's Annika's story. Underneath her bitchiness is a very, very sad girl, and somehow (I can't believe I'm saying this after what she did to Abby) I want her happy ending too with someone who will love her as much as West loves Abby.

AUTHOR INTERVIEW

What inspired your interest in becoming a writer? Hmm. I wanted to do something I was good at and something I enjoyed. Since jetting off to dig for dinosaurs or learn about ancient civilizations aren’t jobs in particularly high demand, I decided to write. :)

What was the first romance novel you read that made an impression on you? Honestly? Wuthering Heights. I read it in high school and I remember just being blown away by Catherine and Heathcliff’s passionate, dysfunctional love story.

Tell us 3 things people don’t know about you? I hate balloons--like, despise them. I’ve never smoked a cigarette in my life. I don’t have a single tattoo.

What is your writing environment. Total and complete chaos. Kids hollering, cats fighting, trains going by the house, blasting their horns. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.

One of your favorite quotes “I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work.” -- Thomas Edison. This is what I tell myself every time I delete a scene, every time a book doesn’t take off the way I’d hoped. You need lots of failures to find success.

Which authors have caught your interest lately? Casey Quinn. She’s got some great books out. Elizabeth Lee because she writes great books and she is one the coolest, funniest authors I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know.

What’s the last book you have read and loved? Girl With Guitar. I’m sooo not a country girl but that all changed, reading this book.

Top three things on your bucket list. Mine are all travel-related because I love visiting new places. Visiting Alaska, taking my kids to Yosemite and living (and traveling) in an RV for a year.

How did you get the idea for this particular novel? All the twins I’ve known have been connected at the hip. Super close, know what the other one is thinking, the whole “twin” thing in full effect. And I thought, hmm. What would happen if there were two twins who despised each other?

What is your favorite scene in your new release? I love all the scenes between Abby and West because they have such great banter and chemistry. But my favorite scene to write was the roommate scene. Athena is a hoot.

If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why? OMG, I would totally be Abby. I. Want. West.

Who is your favorite book boyfriend? Honestly? I love Case from If I Fall. I don’t like assholes and I won’t read about them or write about them. And Case is just about the sweetest character I’ve ever written.

‘It Was Me’ Blurb- (sequel to ‘It Was You’)

All West Montgomery wanted was a vacation. A week-long stay in Tucson with Abby and her parents, a chance to get away for the week, the opportunity to get to know her family a little better and maybe carve out a little alone time with his girlfriend.

What he doesn't count on is finding a way to resume his baseball career.

Encouraged by Abby and her father to attend a MLB open tryout, West discovers that he can still play ball—well—and he suddenly becomes the hottest commodity on the field. Overwhelmed with offers and possibilities, West knows that whatever choice he makes will affect more than his baseball career. It will affect his future with Abby.
Professional baseball was always his dream, but Abby was a new dream come true. He doesn't want to choose between them, but in order to fulfill one of those dreams, West will have to.
Because he knows it's all on him.
