Friends with Benefits – Kale and Lucy were both not ready for a relationship. And although instant chemistry exploded between the two of them the first time they met, they settled for it. What they didn’t expect though is despite experiencing the best sex of their lives, a deep friendship is going to form between them. A little bit unconventional, but it works for the both of them. But how can you separate your heart from your body?
They had a great set-up that suits them both, but as their casual fling starts to progress, emotions starts to grow and soon, the two of them realized that strings were already all over them. It took one night for their relationship to take a 180 – one night for them to finally decide, and accept to themselves that they were MORE than what they thought they were. This is where I really fell in love with Kale, seeing him man-up, and not running away from the change had me swooning over him. He was a keeper, and I was hoping Lucy’s fear wouldn’t blind her of this.
They were about to have their HEA – but there is that big elephant in the room that needs to be addressed first. THE SECRET. THE PAST. Kale needed to be honest if he wanted his HEA, because Lucy had already bare her soul to him. It was something he didn’t like to address because of the newness of their relationship, which was pretty much understandable at first, but they were starting to trust each other, emotions were already invested, and all he has to do was to tell her. When his past decided to show up and blow in his face, will it be too late for the both of them?
I love these two characters – who wouldn’t? They both have this bad pasts, but both have grown to be really amazing yet stubborn people. There were times when you’d like to pull their heads out of their a** to show them what’s right in front of them, but overall, you can’t help but just love them. Their journey towards their HEA, was long, with a lot of bumps along the way – but it’s those bumps, detours, and holes that have made their relationship stronger.
I was glad to see the old characters here as well, and seeing them happy, with a glimpse of their newfound happiness with their respective relationships. I was excited to meet some new characters here, and I couldn’t wait for the next book in the series!!!
This might be the longest, the sweetest, and the hottest book in the series so far. I have not expected it would be THAT long, but I was too engrossed in reading Kale & Lucy’s story, that I was surprised I was already on the last page of it.
I love a series that improves and has a whole new bunch to offer with each book, and Tessa Teevan just did that with her third installment of the Explosive Series- because apparently, each explosion will bring different effects to her readers. And I think, we haven’t seen that BIG explosion yet.
I'm a twenty six year old book junkie who is also obsessed with sports. Bengals, Buckeyes, Reds are my teams! I work for the government during the day, hang out with Air National Guard on the weekends, and am married to a guy 15 inches taller than me. We're quite the pair! We currently live right outside of Dayton, OH with our two cats.I've been reading since I was a kid. My mom was a librarian, so it was a given. Heck, she even made sure we watched Wishbone instead of the Smurfs. In 2011 when I graduated from college, my mom bought me a Nook, and then in the summer of 2012 I found this amazing site called Goodreads. I was introduced to so many amazing indie/self-published authors. After reading almost 400 books that year, my husband gave me the push to finally sit down and write my own. It was a rocky start, but over time the words started flowing and I couldn't get Jace and Lexi out of my head.If I’m not writing or looking through tons of photos of hot men, all in the name of research, then you can probably find me curled up with my Kindle, ignoring the rest of the world. I love my sports almost as much as I love my books. My other obsessions include red wine, hot men, country music, and all things Grace Potter.I LOVE to hear from readers, so please feel free to contact via any social media site listed below.
