Title: Sweet Addiction
Series: Sweet Addiction #1
Author: J Daniels
Release Date: May 2, 2014
Wedding hookups never amount to anything.
Those who partake in this wicked little activity know the rules. Get in. Get laid. Get out. There's no expectation of a relationship. It is what it is.
Dylan Sparks knows the rules. She’s familiar with the protocol. And she engages in the best sex of her life with a complete stranger at her ex-boyfriend’s wedding.
Reese Carroll doesn’t care about the rules. He wants more than just one night with Dylan. And he’s too addicting to pass up.
Sweet Addiction is the story of one girl’s struggle to keep things casual, and one boy’s desire to never let her go.
Let me summarize this novel in one word repeated for
emphasis.
Dylan makes the meanest and sweetest cake on the planet,
and Reese was an accountant. It was supposedly one-time wedding hookup with no
meaning. CASUAL. No expectations.
She knows how the game works, she memorize the rules –
but when he gives her the big-O and ultimately the best sex her entire life on
her ex-boyfriends wedding, it got her a little bit, um, addicted. One thing I
couldn’t forget about this girl is her hands – it can make the best cake you
can ever taste, but the hardest slap you can’t feel your jaws for a moment or
so.
As for Reese Carroll –
the intelligent and hot
accountant, he didn’t really care much about the rules, all he wanted was her. He
would respect her wishes if she wants to, but it didn’t stop him from going
all-alpha on her and wanting more than just one night, even if all Dylan wanted
was a “monogamous-casual” relationship with him. She was his drug of choice, and
he was hooked. Tell me how can she resist him?!
I can’t help but to shake my head at the two of them.
They obviously wanted it to be MORE, heck they were already MORE by the way
they act, but she was adamant in maintaining the ‘casual’ clause of their
relationship, and he wanted to respect her decision. Just as when everything
was perfect, she overheard something that broke her heart. Ah, eavesdropping
could bring so much trouble.
I love the characters in this novel, especially Joey. He’s
such an amazing friend who was always there for her when she needed the most.
He’s a breath of fresh air every time his name appears on the page with his
antics. Juls (who was busy with Ian), but was ready to be by her side when
needed. She and Joey were loyal and protective.
I would have loved it more if it was in written I dual
POV, with me going through Reese’s thoughts. And I wished they could have taken
their drama elsewhere rather than had it on Jul’s day. It was like watching a
TV drama live, and if I were Jul’s I’d be mad. But as what I have said, Juls
was loyal, and all she wanted was for her friend to be happy.
It’s sweet. It’s addicting. It’s sinfully HOT. I enjoyed
reading it and would be looking forward for more from this author!
