“We all have to make tough decisions, and when faced with extraordinary circumstances, even the greatest of us can choose wrong.”
I fell in love with this series since I have read the first book, and I fell in love with it even more on its third installment. I knew it would be great, I wouldn’t expect less of JL Berg after she gave me two great novels prior – and good thing she didn’t disappoint. So better get ready for Garrett and Mia’s story.

They fell in love so young, and were so in love with each other – but it all went to waste when Mia decided to go-MIA right before they could tell every one of their future plans. It left Garret broken, scarred and wondering what went wrong. She left him with a note, as if they didn’t share something special, as if they were just mere friends…

Everyday has been a struggle for him to pick up the pieces since Mia left. Nightmares would swarm him at night. He soaks himself at work he didn’t even like to begin with just to put her out of his mind. He preferred being alone, and he doesn’t do relationship in the fear of risking his heart again.

Mia Emerson was back, and she realized a long time ago that she made the biggest mistake of her life by turning away from the boy who have loved her greatly. She’s very good at one thing – running away. When life had given her something outside of her comfort field, she found herself returning to her hometown, and finding Garrett. Maybe, it was time.

Garret tried to play it cool, he tried to fight it – but she was the love of her life, and her being back in town causes his world to spin out of its axis. But the anger that has been simmering in his heart for so long has able to built the walls around his heart, and eight years later, forgiveness was just too hard. Will he allow the girl who broke him back into his life? Would Mia find away to finally tell him what happened that night?

I knew there was a reason behind her disappearance. There has to be a good reason why she decided to leave him. Some of the pages would give me ideas, and just when I thought I got it all figured out – JL Berg would pull a twist that would still have me surprised.

I love stories about second chances – and despite the fact that the plot has been used and abused by authors, some would find new ways to make it stand among the others. As for JL Berg, she gave me a wonderful story about these two amazing characters, their journey towards their second chance is a bit rocky – they should first surpass lies, betrayals, secrets that has come between them. And one of them must learn how to forgive himself before they could even start fresh.

READY FOR YOU gave my heart a perfect squeeze I couldn’t breathe of its ache; it gave me one amazing story of a rekindled love affair and a journey towards healing and forgiveness. This was one book you could not put down, and definitely, highly recommended!
“Love is many things. It’s every raw human emotion rolled up into one messy four letter word.  There’s no rule book and definitely no guarantees."

With our bags loaded, we started to make our way back to the car, weaving through the crowd and enjoying the sounds of people talking and soft music playing. I smiled when I heard a child laughing. I turned to see a child being thrown over his father’s shoulder.

“Garrett! Stop it! I’m too old to be carried!” The child laughed.

“You’re never too old to be tackled, Connor! We’ve got to get you ready for football!”

That voice—even after eight years, I would recognize it anywhere. My stomach fell to the concrete, and my feet cemented to the ground. I was frozen, completely frozen. Everything slowed. The street noise melted away, and each and every shopper disappeared until I saw him. He had the boy slung over his shoulder. They were both laughing and breathless from their horseplay. He looked older, but it was still him. He still had the same jet-black hair, emerald eyes, and dazzling smile. A beautiful blonde woman was smiling at the two of them as they joked around.

My heart finally caught up to my brain, and it felt like a jackhammer was beating hard and fast in my chest. My hands shook, and my knees suddenly felt weak and wobbly. I had no idea how much time had passed since I saw him.

Minutes? Hours?

I didn’t know, but it couldn’t have been long since Liv was just now noticing my crazy behavior.

“Amelia, are you okay? You look like you just saw a ghost,” she said.

When I didn’t respond, she must have glanced up because I heard her gasp. She’d seen him, too.

“I-I need to get out of here—now,” I gritted through my teeth.

“Are you sure?”

I just nodded and started to turn. I couldn’t face him. He probably hated me.

He had a kid. That hurt. My hand went to my chest, trying to rub out the pain settling there. He had a child. That meant the blonde standing next to him was probably his wife. Garrett was married. It had been eight years. Of course he would be married. I didn’t know why I was surprised, but he wasn’t supposed to be here. He had moved away. He was supposed to stay away. I couldn’t be here if he was still here. I couldn’t breathe if he was still here.

“Come on, sweetheart, let’s get to the car,” Liv said gently, grabbing my arm and guiding me toward the car.

I just gave a brief nod as I let her lead me.

We hadn’t made it three steps before I heard the words that made my heart come to a screeching halt.

“Mia? Mia, is that you?”
