It has been the driving force of the novel, and Clare
James would kill you with curiosity, because answers weren’t exactly given,
instead clues were placed, until you can’t help yourself but wonder, formulate
and hypothesized what went wrong with him and his career.
Maybe that’s why I couldn’t stop reading this novel,
because I was hoping to get some answers. This man was at the top of his
career. Finn Daley was young, sexy, hot, high scoring player, and definitely a
fan favorite. He got into booze, and girls, and the suddenly, he just decided
to quit and became a recluse.
He was an enigma I wanted to solve.
As for Casey – she wanted to be a respected journalist,
but the only opportunity that is near to her dreams was to become a Sports Girl
on TV. It wasn’t really what she wanted, but she was desperate for a job, most
likely related to media/journalism, she took the gig. I just wished, she’d stop
whining about how she didn’t like it and instead be like Mac, who took it as an
opportunity. There was nothing wrong with being a Sports Girl. It was a decent
job that would provide her exposure. And most especially, it pays the bills. If
she’d only be patient, and enjoy the ride.
She has a plan though, she wanted to uncover the biggest
mystery in recent sports history. It will help her in her career, but how far
is she willing to go?
The attraction was there, the chemistry was strong, and
the sexual tension was mind-blowing! I fell in love with the mystery, and the
ending is killing me. Nevertheless, it was a short read that kept me in the wee
hours. I can’t wait for the next one in the series!
