He was just a boy.
And I was just a girl.
But if that’s all there was to the story it wouldn’t be very interesting, would it?

Up and coming band Willow Creek is back in their hometown for the summer. For the drummer, Maddox Wade, this summer was meant for writing music and playing gigs.

Falling in love was not part of the plan.

One look at Emma Burke and those plans cease to matter.

Emma is quiet and guarded. She’s still hurt from her father walking out two years ago. She doesn’t want to trust Maddox, but with his dark hair, smoldering good looks, and infectious smile he’s impossible to resist.

Together Maddox and Emma embark on an unforgettable summer of adventures and first love.

Everything is perfect…or so Emma thinks.

There are things she doesn’t know, and when she finds out the truth it might shatter everything she’s built with Maddox.

No one said love was easy, and for Maddox and Emma it just might be impossible.

This is a Young Adult book. The following books in the series will be New Adult

The best things in life are free, and sweet.

Get ready for an epic summer of your life. I’m so glad this was a timely read for me. Makes me longed to have those wonderful adventures with Maddox and Emma.

Emma was just a simple girl who prefers books and her solitude. She wasn’t a party girl, so when her best friend was out there having the time of her life, she just sat and read book, until Maddox Wade came over and introduce himself.

Maddox life wasn’t easy when he was young. But now, he has a good life and was thankful for it. Not just because he now belonged to a wonderful family, but he has an amazing career being the drummer in an up and coming band, Willow Creek.

He didn’t expect himself to fall in love coming home this summer. But meeting the shy, unpretentious and smart Emma had his world ran out of its axis. It was refreshing to know someone who doesn’t know him, and someone who was willing to share adventures and take risk with him, even though he knows she was quite unsure of some of them.

He promised her an epic summer, and Emma was going to have one.

Emma was afraid of falling in love and risking her heart. Her father had left them two years ago and never came back. She never wished to experience it once again. That’s why she doesn’t want to trust Maddox. But Maddox is just too wonderful to resist. She couldn’t help but fall in love with him one adventure at a time. He was fun, he was exhilarating and he was something she needed in her life.

But when secrets were out in the open, and Maddox might not be the person she thought he was – everything might crumble into pieces. Trust questioned and hearts break, will they be able to make it?

Everyone that surrounds them were quite amazing too, even Mathias who started out an a**.

Reading this was so much fun, I love them both: I love their zest for life, their quest for adventure and Emma taking the risk. She was a quiet and shy girl until someone pricks her little bubble and brought her out in the open. Every adventure allowed her to bloom.

It’s sweet, romantic and a perfect summer read.
