Charlie's future depended on the 'hackfest' during spring break. Instead of going with her friends to have a vacation, she joined the hackfest. She felt that college wasn't for her, so secretly she dropped from school and prayed that she was going to land a job by joining the contest.
In the game that she was playing, she played an expert archer and a fierce warrior. Here she met another gamer on line who was sweet to her, and she hopes to meet him there. But much to her surprise, she didn't crossed-path with Win, instead, she stumbled into her ex-boyfriend, someone who isn't easily forgettable. Years ago, they had been an item without her friends knowing. There has been too much emotion and sparks. However, it was just short-lived.
Jonas has five days to win this girl. He wanted to tell her the truth, but didn't know where to start. He wanted to tell her that he's her on-line admirer. But it wasn't just that unforgettable body that made this girl attractive, but it was also her skills. How would he ever made her believe that it was her capabilities rather than his attraction to her that made him want to hire her?
Charlie has so much issues, with all those sturdy walls plastered all over her. Her past was still haunting her. Her future was uncertain, and she was quite loss. She is good at what she does, and unlike school, she is more focused when it came to cyber world. I was crossing my fingers that she'd get the job though, and realize her potentials were just as good as any man.
Jonas is honest to a fault. I wish he can do white lies, or be a little more sensitive to Charlie's feelings. Nevertheless, he believe in her capabilities, but with a not-so-healthy dose of reality. And the sex - I like how Shannyn made their 'make-up' sex, it was sizzling, I just didn't expect the ending. I was ready to get my mind blown, I just ended up laughing and grinning. There is always a first time for everything, well, at least another dose of reality inserted in between.
I like nerds! They rock. They rule! That's why I enjoyed reading this book - not only it was short, sweet, sexy and fast paced but also it was filled with smart characters that were easily likable.
Shannyn Schroeder is the author of the O’Leary series, contemporary romances centered around a large Irish-American family in Chicago and the new Hot & Nerdy series about 3 nerdy friends and their last spring break. When she’s not wrangling her three kids or writing, she watches a ton of TV and loves to bake cookies.
