*Book 6 in The Beautiful Series or Standalone*
All Blake Johnson knows is the life of a Marine. After serving his country for eight years, he returns to his family for some rest and rehabilitation. Fighting an internal war, he battles sleepless nights as images of his former military days haunt him.
From the moment Audrey Hampton walks into his life, he is drawn to her. Her beauty leaves him breathless and weak in the knees. She kindles a spark of hope deep within his soul, igniting a part of himself he feared was missing. Her never-ending compassion for others opens his heart in a way he never dreamed.
But Audrey is hiding wounds of her own. Returning to Lake Tahoe to care for her ill mother triggers painful childhood memories of her parents’ loveless marriage, reminding her there is no such thing as true love.
Will Blake’s resolve be powerful enough to open Audrey’s sealed heart? Or will Audrey fear the past and risk losing the man who could give her life a new found purpose?
Can two wounded souls become one?

I always admire strong, and feisty heroines. I am often annoyed of those women who are weak, and are just contented to be pushed around, that's why at first, I didn't like Audrey at all. She's a grown-up and she should not allow anyone to treat her that way or make her feel bad about herself, regardless of who it is. She returns back home to take care of her ailing mother, who seemed not to want to be taken care of.
The idea of tough love sickens me, I mean, if I were on my death bed, I'd be recalling people whom I had hurt or sinned against and I'll ask forgiveness over and over again. Instead, her mother was still a bitter old woman, trying to berate her in anyway she can - argh. There was this point when I wanted to tell her to leave, and allow her mother to die alone. But since she has that big, compassionate heart that seemed to be numb with all those emotional abuse - she stayed and took care of her mother.
Audrey didn't believe in love and happy-ever afters. You wouldn't want to ask why. It was heartbreaking for someone who was devoid of love, but didn't do anything to deserve it.
As for Blake - ah, this one makes all these worth it. I think I found a new book boyfriend. He's in the military, and he's pretty amazing. He goes after what he wants, determined, persuasive, but never forceful. He's charming and he's sweet - but would all these be enough to break those titanium walls that surrounds her heart?
The whole time I was cheering for Blake and wanting to put a smack on Audrey at some point. I wanted to tell her: THIS MAN IS WORTH IT! WAKE UP BEFORE YOU LOOSE HIM! It took a whole lot of patience and perseverance for him to finally win her heart. He wooed, and wooed until he finally broke those walls. And what he did, for her? OMG - it was just swoon-worthy, jaw dropping, I-can't-believe-he-has-the-guts-to-tell-them-kind-of-scene. If he hasn't won you with his charms, he'd definitely you'd want him for yourself after THIS particular scene.
Everyone is capable of loving, and it is always a choice. Fate may intervene one way or the other, but it would always be up to you to open up your heart and welcome love with open arms. A Beautiful Purpose is a story of finding love, deeming worthy of it, and fighting for it.
This may not have been my favorite book in this series, but I just found my new book boyfriend. I think Blake is my favorite guy among all the swoon-worthy guys in Alicia Rae's Beautiful Series. Audrey is very lucky to have him! I was glad to see the rest of the gang living their HEAs!

it was an okay read. new-book boyfriend material here!to summarize my rants...
~Blake~
I bent forward, intentionally invading her personal space. I wanted to see her reaction to my proximity, to see her affected the way she always had a certain prowess to do to me.
Audrey’s breath caught, and her lips parted slightly. Nevertheless, she stayed rooted in place, and it encouraged me to speak my innermost thoughts. “You’re my mission, Audrey,” I breathed inches from her face.
The cool wind from the ride blew against me, and the movement made her scent fill my nose as her hair lifted from the breeze. “I want to know everything about you—what makes you laugh and what makes you smile, how to avoid
the sadness I occasionally see glimpses of in those stunning eyes of yours. I want to make sure there’s never sorrow there again.’’ My voice was complete with solemnity and earnestness. “And when we get on this Ferris wheel”—I glanced at the ride and then back at her—“if the damn thing ever stops, I’m going to kiss you again and feel your soft lips on mine. It’s all I’ve thought about for the last five days.”

Thank you to my dear sister, Kels, who showed me a few years ago how much I truly missed reading. And to my loving husband, for not throwing away my Nook, and planting the seed of writing into my mind. I am forever grateful. Xo
Readers, words cannot thank you enough for supporting me along this incredible journey. I hope you enjoy my novels as much as I do writing them. I thank each and every one of you.
