I am a nurse, and I would always be an advocate for people like Grayson. But I am also human, I had my doubts too. I am a reader, who aspires to read perfect men in every book I pick up. But Lisa Eugene, gave me a dose of reality and something different.
I wonder if he'd be suitable to be the lead male, if what problems should I expect that would rise in between my reads, and how can he form a conducive relationship?
You will love Anna, she didn't judge, instead she loved him and cared for him unconditionally. She knew of his illness, and in fairness to Lisa, Angie was really therapeutic. She understood the magnitude of the problem, knew how it works, and knows how to respond to it. There were times when she has doubts and apprehension to, I can't blame her, she's also human. But in the end, it was her determination, non-judgmental attitude and love that allowed their love to blossom despite all the circumstances.
As for Grayson - his situation was devastating but I was wondering what his story was. I was hoping that Lisa took the courage to write down his POV, it would have made this more interesting, don't you think?
Their age difference didn't bother me - he might be forty, but for men, life is just beginning from then. Not to mention, he was so virile in bed! He tried to stop her from getting closer, knowing his illness might come between them, but it didn't stop her. She was determined to get close until she finally reached out to him. But his demons came back to haunt him, and this time, it may not only be inside his mind.
It was different and sexy. I applaud Lisa for making this amazing novel, it depicts the harsh reality in the world of schizophrenics, and yet gives them hope that despite their shortcomings, it wasn't impossible to find love.
different, but great, sizzling read!
Lisa Eugene began writing as a way to mentally escape from the hectic medical world where she has been a practicing nurse for over twenty years. After publishing her first novel, STRICTLY BUSINESS, she quickly learned that readers couldn't get enough of the world she created and now she lives out her wildest fantasies by writing steamy romantic suspense for her fan-favorite Washington Memorial Hospital series.
When she's not plotting her next dangerous, fast-paced, sexy adventure, you can find her juggling a full time job, playing soccer mom, or curled up reading a good romance.
