Slope of Love by Melisa Foster - Blog Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

THE REMINGTONS are a 5-book contemporary romance series featuring alpha male heroes and sexy, empowered women. They're flawed, funny, passionate, and very relatable to readers who enjoy new adult romance, contemporary romance, and women's fiction.

Olympic gold medalist skiers Jayla Stone and Rush Remington have been best friends for years. They’ve seen each other at their best and worst and have kept each other’s secrets without fail. Only there’s one secret Rush has kept close to his chest. After months of introspection, Rush realizes he’s been filling his bed but not tending to his heart. He’s changed his womanizing ways, and the only woman who can fill his heart has been right by his side all this time.

Years of intimate conversations and the sharing of hopes and dreams collide when Rush reveals his secret, and one toe-curling kiss changes everything between Rush and Jayla. They’re no match for the passion that kiss ignites, or the pull of true love. But being Rush’s best friend means knowing all about his revolving bedroom door—and Jayla has a secret of her own that could jeopardize her career andher relationship with Rush. Even their love may not be enough to overcome Rush’s past or secure Jayla’s future.

Since I started this series, I became addicted to Melissa Foster’s novel, not just because it had me falling in love and break my heart every time I read one of her works, but at the same time, she would always have something fresh to offer each time a book comes out. Nothing is the same, it would be something different, yet more beautiful, or equally so than the previous releases.

“You’re too big a part of my life to be my little anything. You’re my everything.”

Olympic gold medallists skiers Jayla Stone and Rush Remington had been best of friends since they were young, and it was only at some point where Jack gave him a talk when he finally saw the light...

They have known each other’s quirks, strengths, and weaknesses, even their darkest secrets. But there is something that Rush kept to himself, he was trying to find the right time to tell her. After months of thinking, he realizes that filling his bed with different kinds of women doesn’t make him complete. There was still that void inside of him that needed to be filled. He starts to changed his womanizing way, and he realized that the only woman who can make him feel complete is right beside him all along – now he just needed the perfect time to tell her what he feels...

But of course, Jayla was dating a prick, she was keeping a devastating secret from him, and of course, she was confuse whether to cross the friend zone or not. They had always been together during trainings, and Rush didn’t want women during these times to avoid losing focus.  It didn’t stop Rush from finally telling her, he had waited for so long, he couldn’t wait much longer. She needed to hear it from him.

One toe-curling kiss turned both their worlds around and changes everything between the both of them. Jayla was worried about his past, and Rush was worried about her secret that might affect her future. Her secret could both jeopardize not just her career but her newfound relationship with Rush. Would their love be enough to surpass it all?

I love their friendship and the value they put into it. No one could blame Jay for being careful with regards on how they should proceed with their relationship, and keeping her secret. She was scared, because being a skier is all she had ever wanted in her life. But Rush, his effort had not been put to waste. He would do just about anything for Jayla. He was threading carefully in their newfound relationship, but he was doing well. He gives her advice not just as a boyfriend but as a fellow competitor and skier. He knew how strong Jayla was, and how much she loved the sport. I was just glad he knew where to put his limits and give some ultimatums. As for Jayla – this strong, amazing girl sometimes surprises me, annoys me and frustrates me. But at the same time, she makes one big decision at the near-end of the novel that made me want to applaud her.

This is the second to the last Remington who’s about to say goodbye to his bachelorhood, and embrace a relationship that has been long-overdue. One of the strongest foundation of a relationship would always be friendship, and nothing beats being with your best friend. Sure, it will scare the heck of you when you are about to cross that thin line – but the rewards would be worth it.

“Kissing you was better than winning the Olympics.”
