In Harmony by Helena Newbury - Book Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

In Harmony
Fenbrook Academy #2
Helena Newbury

Everyone expects her to succeed….

Karen plays the cello like an angel, and it’s the only thing that makes her truly feel alive. But her father’s dream—for her to join a prestigious orchestra—leaves no time in her life for anything but music…not even love. She feels trapped on her path, but doesn’t know how to rebel.

Everyone expects him to fail….

Connor plays rock guitar like the devil himself, and his ability has got him all the way from a dead-end life in Belfast to a scholarship at Fenbrook Academy. But beneath his arrogance and charm, he doesn’t believe he has what it takes. He’s spent his time in New York drinking and partying, and the only future he sees is a return to Ireland as soon as he flunks out.

But what no one expects….

When her duet partner is injured, Karen is forced to team up with Connor. Neither likes the idea, but what begins as anger and distrust slowly spirals into love…and lust. If they can face up to their feelings and act upon them, they might just have a chance together. Will Connor allow Karen to stop his fall? And can Karen trust him enough to let him show her a life she never thought possible?

MY REVIEW  -
I have met Natasha prior to reading this novel. She and Darrell had captured my interest. Most especially her – she is one of the most amazing ballet dancers in the prestigious Fenbrook Academy of Performing Arts. She is beautiful, talented and has enormous secrets to bear. Some of it causes her nightmares during sleep, some causes blood to appear on her skin. She was not proud of what she’s doing – but somehow she has the feeling that she NEEDS to do it.
Then one day, at an audition, Darrell came into the theater – he made her forgot her piece on stage as he watched her dance. He is a multi-millionaire designer at a young age. But his past, along with the tragic loss of his love ones had pushed him to do something he had not imagined himself doing. But after all the pressure and hard work, he can already feel the stress heaving on his shoulders – burnout is looming above his head and he knew he needed something to complete his work. Then he saw Natasha danced, and he knew – he wanted her to dance for him. He wanted her to be his muse.
As she danced for him, feelings starts to develop, and secrets are about to be discovered. But are both willing to share the pains of their past and finally let go? Or will they let their past consume them?
I loved them both – but I wished that they were more open and honest with each other. They should have entered a relationship with a clean slate. It must have been hard and embarrassing to keep those secrets – but when you really, really love someone and believed that the person loves you just as much, you must willing to take the risk and offer your trust.
Helena Newbury has a talent for describing things which will take you to the front row seat of each scene. I love how she described the way Natasha dances – it was filled with emotion, with such passion that you can feel you have witnessed it without actually seeing her dance.
I must admit, I adore IN HARMONY more, but I enjoyed reading this novel. Dance for Me is a story about two characters with secrets and troubled past, falling in love, learned to trust and finally let go of the past.
Clarissa and Neil – they were the characters that intrigued me most among all the pairs in the group – would they be the next in line??? I’m truly looking forward for it!
