Backfield In Motion
Book Four: Seattle Lumberjacks Series

Releasing October 1st, 2013

ALL YOU’LL EVER BE IS A PRETTY FACE
Star running back Bruce "Bruiser" Mackey has heard those words his entire life, especially after his twin brother’s tragic accident. He might use his surfer-boy good looks to land lucrative endorsements for his secret charity, but he hates books being judged by their covers. Which is why it’s wrong that his friend MacKenzie Hernandez is intent on giving herself a makeover.
Sure, Mac and her father have been reeling financially since her brother disappeared three years ago, and Lumberjacks management gives an annual scholarship that might get her life back on track, but he can’t imagine anyone smarter, sexier, or more beautiful than Mac already is. He can’t keep his hands off her—and the more they spend time together, the less he wants to. She’s perfect as is. One way or another, he’ll make sure the team’s tomboy groundskeeper gets a full ride. And between the two of them, they can learn to accept what’s behind them and look downfield to a future full of win.

And here I thought he’s just another pretty face in the magazine covers…

Never judge the book by its cover – because star running back Bruiser Mackay is more than just the face of the latest endorsements, or his team. Unknown to others, even to his close friends and family, he does this to fund his secret charity. More than just a hot commodity, this jock had a great, and compassionate heart and a load of emotional baggage. A tragedy took the life of his twin brother and for years, he blamed himself for it.

He thought she was pretty and hot just the way she were…

Friend to all, one of the boys MacKenzie Hernandez spent the last three years of her life chasing clues with her father with regards to the disappearance of her brother. She personal and professional life went on hold for some time for her to provide closure to her family. But this time, she’s going to grab every opportunity that comes into her – Lumberjacks management hands out scholarship that can help her life get back on track. She will have a chance to get the job that she wants and the financial security she longs for. With the help of unexpected new girlfriends, and Bruiser’s family – the team’s tomboy groundskeeper was transformed into a sexy bombshell that rendered Bruiser stunned. He already liked the old Mac – she was real to him, but he can’t deny that this new Mac attracts him as well.

I can’t fathom how can this two form a healthy relationship with all the emotional, and psychological baggage they carry from their past. It was great that they started out as friends, then they turned into lovers – had mind-blowing sex every time they got together, but when emotions were starting to get involve, both of them were scared. Bruiser can’t tell her about his past, and Mac can’t let go either. BUT ALL IT TOOK IS one scarred child to finally got them around – hopefully let go of their past and embrace the future.

The plot was great – I have some ideas about their past, but when it all came to light, some information still caught me by surprise. The characters are indeed strong enough to have survived everything that they have been through. Some of the twist and conflicts would had still surprised me, and I was wondering if they can solve it all - but hey, they did. Jami Davenport had closed all windows she opened.

Backfield in Motion is a one long rollercoaster ride about two amazing scarred individuals who were held back by the pains of their past, finally finding love, comfort and healing from each other. It may have took a long time, a whole lot of hurts, broken hearts and tears – but in the end, it was all worth it. See, love does the impossible things, it can heal wounds and even wipe scars.
