Blurred by Kim Karr - Book Review, Giveaway

The story before the love story….

When he lost the only woman he’d ever loved, it seemed there was nothing left to live for.

Even as a boy, all Ben Covington ever wanted was to spend forever with Dahlia London, the beautiful girl next door...then one life-altering decision tore them apart and he was forced to leave her.

Now, despite having returned to win her back, he’s still alone. She’s with someone else—someone she’s never going to leave.

Resigned to a future without his former girlfriend, Ben numbs his broken heart in a haze of liquor and women. But then the only woman who ever even turned his head while he was with his girl reappears unexpectedly. And he’s never forgotten their one incredible night together. But will Ben’s destructive behavior destroy his future with her before it even begins?

He was Dahlia’s past. She was everything to him since he was younger, and it took one assignment, one danger for him to be stripped out of her life. When he came back, she already belonged to someone else, and was happy with her life.

He may had his life back, but he still felt empty. This was not the life he left, this was something different. And he wasn’t really adaptable to the change. He tries to accept the fact that the girl he loved for so long wasn’t for him anymore – so he numbs himself in booze and women.

He was trying to piece his life back together, but it appears to be harder that it should be. He wanted his old job back, instead he was given a beat that he hate because he wouldn’t published a certain story from his past. And his first day on the job, he blew it.

Then suddenly, someone from his past reappears. The girl who captured his attention some years prior and someone he couldn’t shake off his memory. They spent one night together – but it was so special it lingered in him for so long now. But his destructive behavior and hazy judgment endangers his future with her before it even started…

Again, here, he did something stupid, but perhaps it was the wakeup call and the closure he needed for him to really start fresh in his life. He called one person I didn’t expect for him to call, and right away, that person was there just like he/she has always been in the past.

You should heed that warning and do not expect a love story. Instead, brace yourself for Ben’s side of the story. You will understand him better as you get to read his side to the story. His journey, his pains, and his past, wrapped up in this short, beautifully covered emotional novel.
