Title: Learning To Forgive(Learning, #3)
Author: R.D. Cole
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: June 5, 2014
Learning to Forgive tells the story of Blaire and Lyric. This is not your ordinary fairytale. There is no perfect prince-charming, and no damsel in distress. Instead, we are introduced to Blaire – a quiet, grief-stricken girl who have left Mobile, Alabama after the death of her brother. A year later, she returned, completely a different person. Gone was the quiet person, after another fresh betrayal, she came back, stronger and fiercer. She won’t let another person hurt her once again. Her walls are up. Her new attitude caught the attention of the front man of Lyrical Obsessions.
Lyric “The Demon” Deveraux is not your ordinary bad guy. His roots are evil. He has more on his life that he leads on. He killed first when he was seventeen, and the list has grown over the years – as well as his list of enemies.
The moment they met, sparks and tempers flew. Blaire conquered him the moment she came into town. At first, he wanted to keep his distance to keep her safe, not just from him, but from his enemies as well. But Blaire wouldn’t do what he asked. She continued to defy him, and he had no choice but to keep her safe, face both of their past that could possibly endanger the both of them.
Blaire – she’s stronger than she lets on. She had a not-so-good childhood, she had lost her mother and suffered some things little girl shouldn’t have experienced. Perhaps the final strike was when she had lost her brother. Your heart would break for her, and everything she had been through. You have this eager wish that she’d have her happy ending soon, but I guess she needed to work hard for it more, and suffer a little bit.
As for Lyric – this guy is an enigma. He can be a real bad boy when he wants to be, but he can be really sweet. I knew he has some secrets up on his sleeves, and I had been dying to find out what it was. I thought I had it figured out, but I was wrong. There was more to his past and to his secrets than what I have originally thought.
He tried to fight off his emotions to keep her safe, but to no avail. He was completely drawn to her. but when their past collided, and danger lurked in, he knew he needed to break her heart to keep her safe.
They were the couple you’d be dying to see happy, because both of them, despite the circumstances of their past, really deserve happiness. But first, they have to deal with their past, and try to wrestle their present to have a great future ahead of them.
The book will consume you. I have done nothing today but lie in bed and finish this book. I wanted to know what will happen, and how will it happen. Their HEA is a must that I didn’t stop reading until finally I’m sure both of them will experience it. But the ride, the adventure, all those pulse-stopping scenes makes the ending so worth it.
