It was one heck of a road trip. If not for the fact that they were running from goons and trying to keep themselves safe, I would have just laughed at their banters, and crazy antics – these two were pretty amazing. Despite the constant fights and arguments, the chemistry is there.
Ashley had a crush on Ethan, until he did something that made her hate him. He wasn’t your usual knight in shining armor. Instead, he was involved with criminal activities, involved his best friend (who was Ashley’s brother), and stopped talking to them. To top all of this, he trapped her in a road trip that can cost them their lives.
But she’s stuck with him, forced to endure him, and tries herself not to succumb into the attraction. Falling into him would be a bad idea – Ethan was bad news. She was a good daughter, sister, and student. There was no way she would get involved with criminal types. But days became long when she spends it with him – whether it’s on the road, cheap motel rooms, and stolen cars. It’s not long enough before she was falling, even half of the time she wants to wring his neck.
It was one great adventure – one day after the other. I love watching them fight, more so fall in love and even when they were trying to sort out their feelings, and made sure that they were (especially Ashley) was making the right decision. Times like this make me forget that they were being chased. That there was danger lurking in every exit.
You will just love the two characters, Ethan, most especially. He was stubborn (both of them are), but he protects what he cares about. Despite being hardheaded, he wanted her safe. Even if it means bossing her around. As for Ashley, she was brave enough to endure all of this. Being chased across the country wasn’t really for the faint of heart.
This adrenaline rushed-filled road trip was a perfect read on this mundane rainy afternoon. It kept me awake, spiked, and some scenes were hot enough to keep me warm. I enjoyed reading this novel, had so much fun with the two characters, and their journey.
