Home Is Where The Heart Is by Christie Mack - Book Blitz, Book Review

As childhood sweethearts growing up in a small Texas town, Jordan and Cassie were the golden couple of their generation—the epitome of the All-American couple one only saw portrayed in movies. But after high school ended, and with the promise that nothing could break their relationship, Jordan moved to California to play football in college, leaving Cassie with a broken heart while residing in their sleepy little town.

Six years later, Jordan is now the starting quarterback for the Miami Dolphins. At the peak of his career, he returns home following his father’s health scare, and in the process, learns he fathered a child with his former flame.

While Cassie may have had her reasons for concealing her son from his father for five years, Jordan is determined to be a part of his child’s life—despite being worlds apart from each other.

Unions will be tested as two worlds collide once more in an attempt to restore a former spark, but will it be enough to make a family whole again? Will Jordan believe home really is where the heart is?

They were high school sweethearts who grew up in a small town of Texas. They were so in love with each other, people would bet they’d end up together, except they didn’t. College, football, and life got in the way. Six years later, Cassie was still living in their small town and Jordan was a famous NFL player. Not to mention, they had a child which he didn’t know about. So much for their happy ending.

Six years later, due to his father illness, Jordan came back home. It was then he found out that he had a son with his ex-girlfriend. Despite the fact that Cassie didn’t tell him about Jake, Jordan was determined to become a father to him. He would do anything to be part of their lives again.

You will love Cassie. She’s a great mother to Jake, and she didn’t stop Jordan from seeing his son. She had every right to be bitter, after what Jordan, and his father did, especially the latter. But she didn’t let her bitterness, her hurt get in the way for her son to know his father. I was glad she had Nick and Gabby with her during all those times she was alone and scared when she was pregnant. They were great friends, and I so wish they’d have their happy ending too. If you think Cassie and Jordan are stubborn enough, wait until you meet these two!

Jordan had an a** moment. Blame it on the element of surprise, or the fact that he was scared, but I was glad he manned up and became the father than Jake need. But first, he had to grovel his way back into Cassie’s good graces. Although I wanted some closure with regards to him and his father, I was glad he had found out the truth.

This one is easy on the heart, and a little light from what I have been reading so far. A perfect read on a rainy afternoon. I have always loved and enjoyed reading stories about love and second chances, and this one wasn’t an exception. Christie Mack wrote a wonderful story about two amazing characters who have found their way back into each other’s arms.

I'm a 27 year old Australian girl who loves nothing more than finding a really good romance book you can't put down until the characters get the happily ever after that they deserve. It was through reading that I decided to put pen to paper, or in this case, fingertip to computer key, and jot down the stories my brain comes up with. When I'm not reading the endless supply of books added daily to my iPad, I can be found tucked away with my laptop in front of me as I write about the many characters begging me to tell their story, one book boyfriend at a time.
