Stroke of Love by Melissa Foster - Blog Tour, Book Review, Giveaway

Kate Parello runs a volunteer program in Belize for Artists for International Aid, where she deals with self-centered artists who use the program as a means to repair their marred reputations. She loves the country, the people, and what AIA stands for, but too many diva volunteers have turned her off to press-seeking celebrities altogether and left her questioning the value of the volunteer program. When she meets incredibly handsome and charming Sage, he stirs emotions she hasn’t felt for ages, even though he represents the things she despises.

Laid-back artist Sage Remington escapes his wealthy lifestyle in the Big Apple for a two-week journey of self-discovery to figure out how a guy who has so much can feel so empty. When he meets ultra-organized Kate, who lives her life the way he's always dreamed of living his, the attraction is too hot to ignore, but Sage is there to figure out what’s missing in his life, not to find a woman.

Every look, and every late-night chat in the romantic jungle brings them closer together, but Sage can barely think past stripping away Kate’s misconceptions about him. Kate fights him every step of the way—even though she finds it hard to ignore the strikingly handsome, generous-to-a-fault artist who wants to do nothing more than right the wrongs of the world—and love her to the ends of the earth.

Have you ever seen so much passion in helping others?

Kate Parello had done nothing but help others, she was a Peace Corps brat. Her parents had been on humanitarian missions since she was young, and now, she runs a volunteer program in Belize for Artists for International Aid. Sounds professional right? But in reality, she’s doing more of babysitting celebrities who wanted publicity rather than real people wanting to make a change.

Her world had revolved around this company, around the people in the community. She didn’t have any time for herself, or for having fun. She had a cause worth fighting for, and every day, her she makes a list of what to do next – falling in love wasn’t one of them.

She had seen volunteers fell in love, and then the romance was suddenly over when it was time to come home. And she didn’t want that. She longed for something more. But looking at the sexy, handsome and talented artist, Sage Remington, who seemed to cause havoc with her emotions – her heart was really in danger.

Two weeks – he signed in for two weeks of volunteer works, self-discovery and escape. He had everything – money and fame, every person’s dream. He was in the peak of his career in the busiest city in the world, and he had never felt more alone. He seemed lost, and he just wanted his life to have a meaning. When he was young, he and Jack used to go into the woods, and nothing gave him the sense of peace other than nature. And going to Belize, it was like coming home, only that this time, he had a bonus: meeting Kate.

He was attracted to her, not just because of her beauty and her knack for organization but Kate was doing everything he wanted to do with his life – helping other people. But first, he needed to find out first what was missing in his life rather than wasting in on a woman.

The attraction though was too potent to ignore. They both tried to stifle it, especially Kate who already stereotyped him like the rest of the celebs. She wanted him to be that so that she could hate him, but every time she does, he would find a way to defy her misconceptions about him.

He was perfect, he was generous-to-a-fault, and somehow in the middle of all this, you will have this question: IS HE FOR REAL? Because that is what exactly Kate was feeling, that what exactly why she was hesitant to go into a relationship with him. First, he was a stranger, he was too good to be true, and he was a celebrity – she was just a volunteer who can’t compete with the gorgeous models he can have in New York. She has nothing to offer him.

However, Sage was determined. Not just to have her, but to make a difference. And that is what this novel does: INSPIRE TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE, INSPIRE CHANGE. At the end of it, you will ask yourself, what will you do to make a difference in this world?

Melissa Foster is one of my favorite contemporary romance authors, and her series are yet to disappoint me. She knows how to blend in family issues, love issues as well as social issues and make one heck of a novel that can inspire you to do something different.

Just like the rest of her novels, I enjoyed reading it, watching them fight against their feelings, and finally succumb to love.

Love me one stroke at a time.
