Tormented by a past relationship that she can’t seem to escape, Chloe feels like her only option is to swear off men completely. Two years later, the self-imposed “man-ban” is still going strong, but then Skye walks back into her life. Skye left Bartow thirteen years ago an awkward, pimple-faced boy who didn’t quite fit in, but the man that returns evokes a white-hot fire of desire in her.
Chloe is the only woman Skye has ever loved and he’s not about to let her slip through his fingers again. She may want to put him in the friend zone, but he knows her desire for him is simmering just below the surface. Just when Skye thinks he’s finally broken down the walls of stone around Chloe’s heart, something happens that will leave them both devastated and broken. Are they strong enough to survive?

Chloe
had been celibate for the past two years no thanks to her ex-boyfriend who
traumatized her with regards to having relationships with the opposite sex.
After getting out of a hellhole kind of relationship, there was no way she was
getting into one – until Skye came into the BAR. She knew him then, but he was
a quiet, shy, pimple-faced boy who didn’t really fit in, now he was oozing with
sex appeal, sexiness exudes in him and he is in a band that now plays in the
BAR, where she worked. Now, her self-imposed relationship ban seemed to be
in-danger, because the looks they shared can set the BAR in flames.
He
loved her since he was in his teens, and he had let her get away then. His shyness
had made him unable to really talk to her back then. Now, after seeing her
again, he knew he wouldn’t let her slip past him. She may be determined to keep him on the
friend-zone, but he was determined to have her this time. He feels the
chemistry brooding between them, and he’d be crazy to let her go this time.
Just
when everything was going perfectly with the two, just when Chloe had given
Skye the pass to go beyond The Friend Zone, a nightmare from the past came back
and haunted her once again. Will their newfound relationship be strong enough
to survive it?
The
characters were pretty much interesting starting from Tom – Chloe’s platonic
best friend who knows which buttons to push with regards to her. I may not
agree with his type of lifestyle but he cares about her a lot and wants what
was the best for Chloe. And there’s Sara – she’s one of Chloe’s closest friends
as well who bright up the pages with her antics, and unpredictability. There is
no doubt that she cares about her a whole lot, and she just wants her to be
happy.
SHORT,
STEAMY, SEXY, FUN with a sprinkle of SUSPENSE - The Friend Zone had the exact ingredients that I like when it comes
to books. There was a dual POV which I really appreciate. I would have loved it
more if it was continuous. Nevertheless, I enjoyed reading it, and I ended the
book with my heart out of my chest eager and very much anticipating for the
next one in the series.

Deleted Scenes
This scene didn’t make it into the book because there were some things that were more important to the story line. However it is one of my favorites.
This particular scene shows the closeness of Chloe and Sara's friendship as well as a lot of Sara's personality. Chloe and Sara have been friends since high school. The scene takes place in Chloe's living room. In the first draft Chloe and Skye hooked up on the first night. Sara comes over very early the next morning drunk wanting to crash on her couch and she has no idea that Skye is there with Chloe. Skye emerges from the bedroom and leaves the apartment to get ready to go on a run with Chloe.

"WHO THE HELL WAS THAT!" Sara screams. She looks like she's about to have a stroke. Laughter erupts from my chest.
"You could have given me a heads up you know." She pouts.
"Well, you were plastered this morning and passed out before I could shut the damn door." I replied.
"Go on your damn run. I can't even look at you right now." As an afterthought she adds. "Wait. Is he coming back with you after your run? 'Cause I could definitely look at him again." I glare at her.
"Geez, somebody's sensitive this morning and I bet it's not just your attitude." She wag's her eyebrows.
I groan. "Oh my god. Shut your face." She rolls her eyes.
"Hell, no. I need the deetz, girly. Spill it. Was he half as good as he looks? How big is it? I bet he's huge. Did you see the size of his hands. Of course you did. He probably had them all over you. Is he a screamer? I bet he likes it dirty-"
I throw my hands up and scream. "Stop it!"
She looks at me like I'm the deranged one so I say, " I just woke up. I can't deal with you this early in the morning."
She humphs and crosses her arms over her chest.
About me? Huh well what can I say. I'm a twenty-eight-year-old high
stay at home mother of two beautiful girls.
My children are amazing. There isn’t a day that goes by that they don’t
challenge my husband and I or make us laugh and feel loved. Growing up the way
I did, I never wanted kids, but they’re here and I wouldn’t trade them for
anything in the world for. God has truly blessed my family and me.
My husband Bill is the levelheaded one; he’s always so calm and
logical, whereas I'm the loud-mouthed spaz that doesn’t know when to shut up.
He was my saving grace in a time when I really needed one. I honestly believe
he is my gift from God. He’s everything I've ever wanted: smart, kind, loving,
PATIENT, (lord knows he needs it living with me) and so very supportive!
I'm a firm believer in going through life’s tragedies and blessings so
that you can become the person you were meant to be. Writing has always been a
hidden passion of mine and I am so thankful that I finally have the opportunity
to share my stories with you.
