The
fact that a lot of great authors had contributed for this anthology for a good
cause, makes this book really worth its price, and of course, worth your time
reading. How can you resist giving to a cause and at the same time read about
those hot hockey players that are good in bed as much as they are in the ice? Yay!
I think the ice ice melting with their hotness.
Toni
Aleo’s Tangled in Laces was first in
the line. This was an amazing book to start the anthology and I can’t believe a
novella had me gone gaga. I can’t believe it! It was a short, sweet sentimental
read, and a great prequel to a novel that will be out in 2015! But don’t worry,
this was worth the read. It might cause a bit of built up anticipation and
quite a heartache, trust me when I say, Toni Aleo had written something that
will make you fall in love in less than 200 pages, and break your heart in the
same number, or probably less.
KARSON.
I can’t believe it! I think I spent a lot of time making quote pics, because
this guy just know the right words into my heart! He’s sweet, caring, gentle,
thoughtful and a great guy! He’s talented on the ice, and yes, on bed. And once
he saw Lacey Martin, he was just hooked. He was already pussy-whipped. It didn’t
matter if Grady (his best friend and her older brother) will probably kill him
for panting over his sister, he was determined not just to have her on his bed,
but to get to know her better. SHE WAS THE ONE!!!!
She
was a survivor, but she didn’t go unscathed. She lost her mother through Cancer,
and she lost herself, her self esteem and self-confidence because of it. An
operation had caused her to feel less than a woman, which make her a little bit
hesitant to be with Karson. He was perfect, every girl wants him – why would he
want someone like her? So she tried to fight the attraction off, Karson on the
other hand was persuasive, and one grand gesture, coupled with sweet words, she
agreed for a date. It started from there… for two months, they spend their time
together as a happy couple. When Lacey told him about her secret, her
imperfection, he accepted her and I think I fell in love with this man more.
But
things happen, and he needed to let her go. He didn’t want to. He loved her.
She gave him her trust, her everything. That was the most heartbreaking scene
ever. I think my heart bled for the couple. They were perfect for each other,
they were happy – and then suddenly it all vanished. Leaving the both of them
with shattered hearts. I loved every page of it – the good, the bad, the
painful. Everything was just beautiful.
I
just can’t wait until 2015 when Laces and Lace will come out. Toni Aleo sure
knows how to build anticipation! :)
Because when I wasn’t
trying to score, I was watching you.

Cassandra Carr and Cindy Carr HOOKING HANNAH
Scott’s
a sweet, sweet man who doesn’t hook up a lot, but looking at Hannah – he knew
he needed to have her. Hannah, on other hand, wasn’t really sure if she was cut
out to be a hockey player’s girlfriend, more so, wife. But how can she resist this
man who looks like he was sex on a stick?
It
started with one single night – one sexy, unforgettable night that had them
both hooked at each other. It was supposed to be just sex, but it turned out to
be something more once they started talking to each other, get to know each
other better. But first, Scott needed to
get through Hannah’s lack of faith that she can be a hockey player’s
girlfriend. He just needed to convince her just a little bit more.
This
anthology keeps on getting better and better. Sweet, steamy, and romantic – you
will enjoy reading Scott hooking, or trying to hook the elusive Hannah.

Excerpt from Taking a Shot by Catherine Gayle
“I’m going to murder that dipshit,” Dad said, but somehow his voice was growing distant, like he was moving farther away from us instead of coming closer.
Jamie’s lips quirked up on one side. “Zee and Soupy hauled him out of here. Looks like they were waiting on him to come in like that. I don’t know how much longer we have before he comes back to finish me off.” He laughed. How could he laugh about something like that? “So will you? Let me take you?”
“But my dad…” No matter how tempting it was to forget reason and agree to go to prom with Jamie, I knew it was nothing more than a dream. There was no chance my father would ever agree to let one of his teammates take me out, whether it was to my prom or anything else. That would be an absolute nonstarter.
Jamie moved his hand, and his fingers dipped beneath the edge of my scarf. I wanted to pull away, but the look in his eye held me in place while he used nothing more than his fingertips to caress my newly bald scalp. “I’ll deal with your dad. Let me worry about that.”
Maybe having no hair made my skin more sensitive, or maybe it was the effects of the chemo—I couldn’t be sure. All I knew was that my whole body was zinging with awareness from the way his fingertips were dancing over the skin an inch or two above my ear.
I’d dated a few boys before. I’d been kissed and touched in various ways, and it had all been exciting and wonderful and new, but this was so different. The way he was touching me was so much more intimate, and I felt more vulnerable and scared and raw than I could ever remember feeling in my life, but I didn’t want it to end. Because it was perfect.
It made me wish I wasn’t sick, that I was whole and alive and vibrant like I used to be.
I wasn’t entirely sure what came over me because everything I’d said about not wanting to be the bald girl at prom was still a massive deterrent to going, and I had a very real fear that my father would do actual physical harm to Jamie, but I said, “Okay. Yes. I’ll go with you.”
He smiled, one of those amazing, shy smiles he had that made his dimples come to attention and left me wanting to kiss him. “Good. Now I’d better go deal with Webs before he hurts one of the boys.”
I took his hand when he pulled it away from my head, holding it in mine for just a second. “Don’t…don’t let him hurt you, either.”
“Don’t worry about me,” he said, squeezing my hand and sending a flood of warmth through to every nerve ending I had.
