I said goodbye to sleep the moment I got a copy of this book from Netgalley
(Thank you @readloveswept!) I think my heart went through the roof and you made a
girl really, really happy.
Vale and Hawke shared a past – a young love so real, so intense, all so
consuming and deep – Hawke didn’t know what went wrong that Vale had to break
it off with him. He’d go to the ends of the world for her and jump if she’d ask
him too – but it all went to drain. Soon, Hawke found himself single,
concentrating and working hard on his game and became one of the best hockey
player in the field.
His life was awesome – he had a booming career, he was at the top of his
game. He’s enjoying the perks of fame – party, booze and women. Until he found
himself face to face with his past. Vale was now working for the Cold Fury:
fate must be playing with him!
That night was the turning point in Vale’s life, and even though it was
breaking her heart – she knew she had to let him and the unhealthy lifestyle
go. Years later, she got her life straightened out, and her father got her a
job with the Cold Fury so they can be close to Duke. But things got a little
complicated with Hawke around. She has a lot on her plate and on her head right
now, and she doesn’t need complicated.
But they had an unfinished business in the past, and the chemistry was
still burning between them no matter how they try to deny it. Will the past
always stand between the two of them? Vale was ready to move on and just look
ahead, but can Hawke forget the pain of his heartbreaking caused by Vale?
Hawke may not be the perfect guy – but he was an awesome boyfriend. But they
have been young and impulsive. Things were fast between the two of them and
they were heading to destructionville. It was heartbreaking, but at that
moment, Vale thinks it was the right decision for the both of them.
Nevertheless, I was just glad Vale moved on and went to school. She became
someone she and her father could be proud of. She might not be the perfect
girlfriend when she broke his heart: but she was an amazing daughter! She’d do
everything for her father. Which makes her one of my favorite heroine for this
series!
True love waits, until the hearts, the soul and the mind is ready. No matter
where life takes you, or even if you have met someone else – when you are
destined to be together, fate will move mountains to make it happen. We all
make stupid decisions that can cause hurt, what matters most is that we were
able to rectify it, and not do it again. Second Chance Romance has always been
my favorite, I love seeing love rekindles, lovers learning from mistakes and
moving forward.
So fall in love with another uber hot and sexy hockey player and his girl
in another installment of the Cold Fury Series which you can read as a
stand-alone. Just like any other Sawyer Bennett books, this was beautifully
written, and you’d get hooked just as easily.
