Book Review | Growing and Kissing by Helena Newbury (@HelenaAuthor)
When my sister is diagnosed with a rare form of leukemia, there’s only one way to raise the half a million dollars I need to save her: use my skills with plants to grow marijuana. But I’m a botany geek, not a drug lord. I need help. I need the scariest guy on the block: Sean O’Harra, the muscled, sledge hammer-wielding badass even the dealers fear. He says that he destroys everything he touches...so why can’t I stop thinking about his big hands all over my body? As the summer heat rises, I’ll have to juggle my normal life and my new life as a criminal while cops, dealers and gangs threaten us on all sides...but the hardest thing of all might be keeping Sean and me apart. I’m a good girl...but I think he’s about to turn me really, really bad.

What are you willing to do for someone you love?
Are you willing to do anything you haven’t done before?
Are you willing to get out of your comfort zone? Are you willing to break the
law?
Will the end justify the means?
Louise is always the good girl. The one who is
responsible, intelligent and nice. Never in the world did she imagine to cross
the law until desperation hits her. Her younger sister Kayley, the only family
she has, the one she is responsible for since her parents left them, was
diagnosed with a rare form of Leukemia. She needs half a million dollars for
her to get the best possible treatment there is. But how can she possibly raise
that kind of amount?
She uses her skills and knowledge as a botany student to
grow marijuana. But she was no bad girl. She didn’t know how to dispose it. So
she needed help – where else to turn but on the scariest guy in the
neighborhood, the Irish: Sean O’Harra. He was the destroyer, the one whom even
dealers fear. He says he destroys everything he touches, but despite the
danger, Louise can’t help the attraction she was feeling.
It didn’t take long for him to agree to her crazy
suggestion. He just couldn’t say no to her. Where else will she find help? But
he knew he needed to stay away, how strong can he possibly be? The more they
spend time with each other, the closer they get, and soon they were crossing
the line, acting on their attraction.
But what happens when all this would come to end? When
they will finally dispose of their product? Will Louise stay with him? Will
Sean change for her?
As for Sean – he was great as well. He might be danger personified and someone you would be careful of, but he has a big heart as well. He was always there
for her, but at the same time, he tries to stay away because he didn’t think he
was worth it. Nevertheless, I was glad that he helped her, that he was able to
take the risk, and he was willing to change because he had fallen in love.
I was torn with Louise, but beggars can’t be choosers,
can they? She was desperate, that I understand. It was hard for her to do
something she was very scared and uncomfortable doing, but for the sake of her
sister – she was willing to take the risk. And it takes one heck of a woman and
a whole lot of courage to do it. I think the whole time my heart was almost in
my throat for her. I was crossing my fingers they wouldn’t get caught, and they’d
finally do what they’re supposed to do and get their happy ending.
I enjoyed the thrill of the ride, the nagging question
whether or not they will get caught, the beating of the deadline, and not to
mention the oozing steam and the prolong foreplay. This one is an interesting
read that would make you question choices, and decisions – of what you are
willing to do for the people you love.

Book Review | Fly by Molly McLain (@MollyMcLain)
Meet Colton Wade, FMX rider...
I’m just a small town guy who caught a lucky break. Now I’m living the dream, on the brink of high-flying super-stardom. But something’s missing.
That something is Taylor.
She’s my best friend. The one who makes me want to push harder and higher. The one I fall back on when shit gets tough. The one I’d give it all up for.
I’d do anything to protect her. To make her dreams come true too.
But a single night changes everything.
And now the one she needs protection from...is me.

Colton
Wade had made it to the top. He was now one of the big shot FMX rider, but he
always comes back home – to the person who always had his back: Taylor, his
best friend for a long time. She had been his entire support system, the person
who motivates him, supports him and loves him. He’d do anything to protect her,
including from himself.
As
for Taylor, her life is in shambles. She wanted to do something for herself, to
achieve her dreams, to finally get out of town, but moral obligation seems to
be stopping her. The only good thing that has been happening to her lately is Colton.
They
have been dancing around their feelings for a couple of years, and no one was
brave enough to cross the line between being friends and lovers. Until they
finally took the leap. And here I was, thinking everything would be amazing
after they got together, but I was so wrong!
I
was glad our girl was finally brave enough not to settle for anything less. She
wanted the whole thing – every single inch of him. When he couldn’t do it due
to reasons I couldn’t fathom, she let him go and get on with her life, only to
get a shocking surprise that might change her life around.
I
have always loved friends-turned-lovers plot, it might be cliché, it might be
old – but the magic still works. Just like FLY, I loved it: it’s emotional, a
rollercoaster ride and it ends with a jaw-dropping cliff hanger. Oh yes, you
heard me right, cliff hanger. Nevertheless, it had me panting for the next one.
Hope I don’t have to wait that long.

Book Review | The Duke's Accidental Wife by Erica Ridley (@EricaRidley)
Miss Katherine Ross is a wealthy, eccentric socialite who knows precisely what she wants: No husband. No children. No candlelit tête-à -tête with the insufferably emotionless Duke of Ravenwood. She's convinced his heart is ice — until she touches that chiseled chest for herself. One lapse in judgment is all it takes to turn both their lives topsy-turvy...
The Duke of Ravenwood isn't cold and haughty, but a secret romantic who has always dreamt of marrying for love. Instead, he gets Miss Katherine Ross — a headstrong hoyden intent on unraveling his carefully ordered world. He doesn't know whether to kiss her or throttle her. Can they survive each other's company long enough to turn a compromise into love?

Dukes of War Series
♦ The Viscount's Christmas Temptation (#1: Amelia & Benedict)
♦ The Earl's Defiant Wallflower (#2: Oliver & Grace)
♦ The Captain's Bluestocking Mistress (#3: Xavier & Jane)
♦ The Major's Faux Fiancee (#4: Bartholomew & Daphne)
♦ The Brigadier's Runaway Bride (#5: Sarah & Edmund)
♦ The Pirate's Tempting Stowaway (#6: Blackheart & Clara)

What happens when
opposites found themselves thrust and married into each other?
Unlike the Duke of
Ravenwood who is stiff and adheres to order and propriety, Katherine Ross likes
to do everything according to what she wants in life, with no regards to social
standards. She values her independence. No husband and most especially, no
children. But one single moment had brought them together, and entwined their
lives forever.
Yes, he’s cold and
haughty, but beneath the frozen-like exterior – our Duke has more to him than
meets the eye. I may have started out hating his guts and the way he treated
Katherine (but I love the way she responds to his actions), but as the story
progress and as I get to know him a little better with each chapter, I grow
fond of him. Of his quirks, of his secrets and most of all, of the change that
Katherine and love brought him.
And as for our Katherine,
she’s doing everything to be a great Duchess and makes adjustment to compromise
with Ravenwood. She does everything to fit in to her new title and changing
herself a bit. Good thing, Ravenwood already like/love her just the way she is.
It’s short, romantic,
heartwarming and emotional read. I loved how the story progressed, the changes
in the characters and how they work things out for their marriage to work.
