22858376On the surface, Fleur Marceaux has it all. If only the facade matched reality. With one year left at the International School in London, Fleur’s struggling to graduate, her love life is a mess, and she can’t stop thinking about Max, her ex-boyfriend’s best friend. But all that pales compared to the blackmailer determined to destroy her.

There’s a social hierarchy at the International School and Max Tucker is outside the velvet ropes. After watching Fleur break his friend’s heart, Max knows to stay away from trouble, despite the crush he’s had on her since freshman year. But when they’re partnered on a project, Max learns there’s more to Fleur than meets the eye, and she just might be worth the wild ride.

The more time they spend together, the further Max falls. And when a kiss awakens a passion Fleur never imagined, she’s unable to resist Max, who she had thought was all wrong for her but might be the only thing that’s right. But will he stand by her when her secrets are revealed?

"She was a rollercoaster, and it was the best ride I’d ever been."

This is THE story of the popular girl, and the boy in the sidelines.

I started the series with me not-really-liking this popular girl who modeled and appeared on one music video. I found her a little snob, with her nose up in the air, and dreading her actions towards Maggie. But later, the moment I saw her vulnerability and her good side, you just can’t help but love her. She has issues, she is a bit misunderstood, she has baggage, she may have done something to someone in the past that would make you slap the heck out of her – but hey people change. They regret things. They deserve second chances. This is exactly the reason why I was looking forward to this book.

The moment I get to read the first chapters from Chanel, I thought I’d die if I couldn’t read the whole novel. The anticipation was eating me alive. I wanted to know what happened. The blackmailer was still out there, this is her last year in school and she needed to graduate badly, Samir is no longer with them, and there’s Max – her ex-boyfriend’s best friend who gives her all those butterflies in her stomach. I knew they have sparks surrounding them. Their banters? All foreplay. And it won’t take long before they finally jump on each other. And when they did, it was AWESOME! Totally hot, hot, hot.

Max, on the other hand, needed to prove something to his family. He needed to graduate and Fleur, no matter how much he wanted her, was a distraction he couldn’t afford. He tries to stay away from her, until fate intervened and threw them together. The more he gets to know her, the more his perception of her crumbles, and his crazy emotions when Fleur was around – it was just getting stronger. There was no way to stop it. In fairness to Max, he was a gentleman, he’s a good friend, but he was also true to himself. I admire his courage to face his best friend. It was kinda weird, you get to feel an awkward moment right there, but over-all, you’re just going to love both these guys for their great personalities.

But there’s this big black secret hanging between the two of them, will Max be strong enough to handle her secrets? Would Fleur be strong enough to tell him?

I have loved Maggie & Samir’s story, and I couldn’t express how much I look forward into reading Fleur’s story! Love tells no lie. The very foundation of a relationship will always be trust and honesty. How can it withstand storms when there’s no foundation? There were a lot of moments when I wanted to tell Max myself, because I believe that this guy would stand by her. Besides being a great guy, he’s crazy over her!!! He wouldn’t dare leave her. And Fleur, it was nice watching her fall in love too. This was way different (like waaaay, waaaaay too different) than what she has with Costa!

I have been waiting for this book for way too long, and the moment I got this, I moved it on my to-read ASAP List!!! I swooned, I slept in the wee hours of the morning & I am so happy with the ending. Chanel Cleeton made something nice for her readers to really look forward to this December! An early Christmas gift, an perfect-must-read-can’t-help-page-turner type of ending.

I See London (International School #1: Samir & Maggie) - MY REVIEW
London Falling (International School #2: Samir & Maggie) - MY REVIEW

Originally a Florida girl, at seventeen Chanel moved to London to attend an international university.  In the four years that followed, she received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees, learned how to dance, travelled through Europe, and made lifelong friendships.  Chanel fell in love with London and planned to stay there forever.  But fate intervened on a Caribbean cruise, when an American fighter pilot with smooth dance moves, swept her off her feet.
Now, a happily ever after later, Chanel is living her next adventure in South Korea.  An avid reader and hopeless romantic, she is happiest curled up with a book.  She has a weakness for handbags, puppy cuddles, and her fighter pilot husband.  Chanel writes New Adult contemporary romances and Young Adult thrillers.  Her New Adult debut, I SEE LONDON, will be released by Harlequin (HQN) on February 3, 2014, followed by a sequel, LONDON FALLING, later in the year.
